Miss P has had 3 doses of gabapentin at 100 mg. I think we have to dial it back a bit. She's not sleeping but she's not exploring either. Maybe it's making her feel funny. We started first pill of the chlorambucil this morning. Crossing our fingers and paws. She has zofran on board to hopefully fight any nausea that might be caused by it. @Wendy&Neko what about their urine output? Does it need any special collection? Double bagged? @JeffJ ? Anyone else dosing the drug?

Apparently the bad effects are gone within a few hours. I would handle carefully, double bagged it in the trash. Of course that was an easier problem with just dosing every two weeks. I had two cats on it at once. :arghh:

And by the way, the every other day doesn't "work any faster". The effects are cumulative and still take a couple months to take effect. Normally the steroid (prednisolone or budesonide) is prescribed with it, and helps until the chlorambucil really starts to work. Is Phoebe on a steroid too now?

Not sure if you read the Billie update, but her vet is trying something new because Billie couldn't handled the chlorambucil.

She didn't want to give the steroid because it would mess with her diabetes. :/ ok so it will still be a month before we know if it's helping? Even with the cbc? No I did not read Billies but I will. Ty

See if she will go for budesonide. And honestly, if the predniolone helps and is essential for her life, you can always work the dose around it. It could take a couple months before the chlorambucil effects are seen. When I added pred to civvie Theo and budesonide to Neko (with no BG impacts), I saw improvements within days.
