I can tell you that I didn't want to spend my birthday force feeding my little girl before taking her to be admitted to her veterinary hospital for the day. She ate up her +8 snack - more than usual - 1 1/2 Tbsp FF. But for breakfast, she would no longer take bites of her food, no matter what I did. Just licked at it. She could lick at at Tbsp for hours and it won't disappear. I'm just too tired and disheartened for that. I tried 3 types of food, gave up, force fed her - though she was so resistant I'm not sure how much got in her as there is food all over me and the towel I wrapped around her.

I'm not going to write any more about how I feel because I've got nothing positive to say.

Please send my little girl all the snowflakes and vines and healing light you can today. I'm scared to death about what they're going to find. I'm worried that this ordeal itself is a little too much for her.

Re: 8/24 Kasha AMPS 109 Vet today - snowflakes, light and vines

Prayers gone up for Kasha. Lots of healing vines, and huge blizzards of snowflakes for good vet visit.
My wish for your birthday, is you get a good report about Kasha, and she will be on the road to healing, very soon.

Ok... I had to make some phone calls and dance around the house for a little bit before I could settle down and type.

Just talked to my vet. They found that the sinuses on Kasha's left side were completely full of snot (my vet said that's the medical term - lol). She looked at the extraction sites and every one was healing beautifully except for the one upper left canine. She said canines have really deep roots - and when she flushed out the site, some of the flushing solution came out her nostril. So - it looks like that one extraction didn't heal well and an oral-nasal fistula opened up - basically a tiny hole from the extraction into her nose. Bacteria were then going back and forth from her mouth to her nose and vice versa - resulting in infection and the mucus build up. None of the mucus was colored - also good. So, she sutured the fistula up - I believe "sutured the crap out of it" was the phrase she used. We're switching her to clindamycin (poor girl) - my vet said we could stick with the azithromycin and see how she responded, but I asked what she thought was the very best antibiotic in this case and she said she's had very good results with the clindamycin for oral/nasal type things. So - I hate to switch her again, but I want her to have the exact best a/b for this since we've been thru so much.

And they saw nothing else on the x-rays - everything else looked good. The little turbinate bones in her nose are intact - apparently they are often destroyed in cases of chronic sneezing, and chronic sinus issues.

I heard yowling and my vet said "That's your girl - she's waking up and she doesn't want to be here!". She also said "I don't know what kind of cat this is, but she's made of titanium. Maybe she's part tree shrew, I don't know what kind of cat this is, but she's a tough girl".

Now - logic tells me that whatever was going on in her head has been that way for a while and that the news I got today I would have gotten anyway - but I can't help believing that all the positive energy from FDMB really made a big difference. Last night - Kasha'd been having her 2nd really bad day and once the healing vines and light and snowflakes started coming in - her breathing quieted for the first time in days and she had a better night than she's had in a long time. Then this morning, her AMPS was much lower than last night's PMPS - making me think she was feeling a little better than she felt yesterday. I credit all of you for sending us such wonderful healing energy. Thank you all so much! My heart is feeling so full right now. This is turning out to be a better birthday than I'd even hoped!

Oh happy dance!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

When I had to give Oreo clinda, all I did was put it on her food and she would eat her food right up with the clinda on top.

Clindamycin is horrible nasty bitter stuff . My civvie Butthead was on it recently, and thankfully had no problems eating it mixed in with baby food. Also years ago another civvie had severe nasal congestion (poor thing literally sounded like a pig snorting all the time) that did not clear up with the usual antibiotics. Don't recall offhand which one finally worked, but it took that and some exploratory roto-rooter work to clear her up. So happy that you found a reasonable explanation for Kasha's misery.
