Charlie seemed to be OK on the new dose last night. In fact, she jumped into bed with us to gently nudge her head against us a few times in order to wake us up. In a weird way, Charlie now encourages us to do blood tests. I think this is her way to get a little bit of tuna when she's hungry (IE: all the time). She's better than any mechanical alarm clock out there as she will sit on top of you if needed and she doesn't give up!
Still, we weighed her this morning and she was at 5 kilos. The vet said she should get down to between 4.5 to 5 kilos. We met the target! :-D

Heading into the yellow zone. Keep it stable for us tonight, OK Charlie?

Go Charlie! Find your way down.

Wake up! Wake up!
and FE-E-E-E-D me. ( in a voice like little shop of horrors)

trying to lose weight and diabetes makes for a very hungry Charlie.

it's too bad we can't teach them to open cans.
but alas, no thumbs..... :-D
And being woken up isn't all that bad. Unless its at 5 a.m.

 She must be a relative of Maggie, who won't give up hollering until I get up! She hasn't tried sitting on top of my head yet! Keep sliding down, Charlie.

It looks like Charlie is getting the hang of the FD dance, you too. We always get excited when old habits start returning! :-D :-D :-D

Before Charlie got sick, we never used to let her come in the bedroom at night because she would jump in our bed and bump her little head against us, climb on top of us, and do whatever she could to wake us up.

Our previous routine was to let Charlie sleep in another room at night, and then open up the door to our room at 7:30, feed her, and then she'd come and cuddle for awhile in bed before we'd get ready for work.

Since Charlie has been sick, however, we have kept the door open to our room at night. I guess it's because we're still afraid of hypos occurring, and we think that maybe if something bad happens, she'll give us a sign.

For weeks though, she hasn't come in our bed even though the door is wide open. It is as if she has given up all her routines since she hasn't been feeling well.

So you can imagine how nice it was seeing her in our bed last night. We are hoping that this new dose is heading us in the right direction. Baby steps...
