Well, friends are gone - getting back to normal house here.
Tuscany continues to have more difficulty walking - though yesterday on her trip outside she did huff at DH and he claims she insisted on walking up the steps herself to come in. (I was pissed off at him that he allowed her to use that leg that much and on stairs....). She is eatting - probably too much. It seems like her can of food is being eaten more quickly than usual - her can would normally last her 9-10 hours. I think that is partially causing her higher sugars - but it's not like it is going to matter at this stage. It is a bit hard to let go of trying for tight control but I've had over 2 mos of practice now.
DH and I are talking about vet dates for Tuscany. It will probably be Thurs Sept 2nd - provided no significant worsening between now and then. We are sensing that she is getting tired, limping way more and having less enjoyment in some of the things that she liked. (like tonight we put her on the couch between us - we don't think she was comfortable and wanted down after about 5 minutes). She has been a brave girl with this sarcoma and I think we have let her battle this long enough. I have appreciated everyone's thoughts, prayers, vines and snowflakes through this summer. It has been comforting knowing that you all know and feel the bond that we have with our sugar cats and that I have had a place to come to where I have been able to vent and start mourning. You guys "get it" Thank you for being here for us.
I will keep you posted. Any thoughts out there as far as the diabetes? Do I keep shooting and testing - she is mostly yellows, more pinks now. Do I just keep things as is til the day? Do I keep her sweet or try to keep her in little lower range in case it makes her feel better? (see the diabetes /LL training is so hard to stop...)
