HORRIBLE ear testing morning. I swear both ears dried up over night. I will try to rest them today
and just monitor him...not ideal, I know, but he needs a break.
If i haven't mentioned it before, Pixie is a bit of an aggressive baby when you start to poke at him.
He DID NOT want to be touched this morning, just wanted to eat and his ears (tried both) only wanted to give a scant amt of blood.
(He can also be a real sweetheart at times. Mostly on his terms.)

Beautiful numbers for Pixie! :-D Great job with everything! Some folks put rice in a sock and heat it in the microwave and use that to heat the ear. Also, most cats learn to like testing when they know a treat is coming. :-D

How about getting a +2 and if the +2 is considerably lower than your AMPS, then you may need to think about more frequent tests.

Wasn't home to get the +2, but I will do a test in a few.
Hopefully it's not too tough.
He is SUPER CRANKY right now.
Just bit my son as he walked past.

Just did +4.5 and it was 56.
Glad I tested.
He eats a can of FF in about 1.5hr.
I will keep a close eye.

I talked to him about the importance of testing and he did much better this time.
It was either that or the watered down FF he got ;-)

I don't know if you've seen this before but if not, maybe it will help you get blood on the first try....
if you poke closer to the edge....and a little above the top sweet spot on the picture.... that's usually a easy bleeding spot.

We talk to our cats and they do seem to understand and cooperate as much as they can. They still vigorously object to going to the vet! :roll: :lol: Pixie, that is a little cranky to bite dear son for no reason. Your bean is just trying her best to help you feel better. Switches to you, I know it's hard for you, too.

+12 104 wait 1/2 hr
+12.5 106.....
Lowest I ever shot was 117......Not comfortable shooting under that.
What to do????
Is shooting .25U an option for tonight??

A 117 is really no different than a 106 once you factor in the 20% for meter variance.

Well, since it's almost 8pm...I will wait the few minutes and shoot.
Someday this will be no big thing to me.
I remember last month it took me a bottle of wine to get through ear testing :lol:

Those are fabulous numbers for Pixie! :-D :-D :-D That 106 really isn't much different than the 117, like Sienne said. If you are around to monitor, have plenty of strips, and HC food/MC food or honey/karo to steer the numbers, you and Pixie will be fine. Plus Pixie has a good appetite - that's important too. :-D On the bottle of wine - :lol: :lol: :lol: Whatever works!
