Hi Julie! Happy Day 13!! :mrgreen:

As for that number: When you can, feed a meal and re-test 3-4 hours afterwards. Chances are, you'll have a perfect BG again.

Also: Take a look at *both* of Karre's OTJ trials: He threw a few over-120 numbers at us. But he always brought himself back down. This happens to lots of cats during their OTJ trial and even during months and years without insulin. Most likely, it's just a little blip. Orange has been doing great! Try to stay relaxed, ok?

Day 13 yay Orange! One day to go then party time! Looks like he is still settling in a bit, hope he gives you some green numbers to ease your mind for the last steps of trial.

Nope, couldn't get home. I'll test him after work then feed. That should be about 3 hrs before the PM test time so we'll see if he comes down.

Julie, please don't worry too much! Orange is doing beautifully. One number doesn't put your trial or OTJ prognosis in jeopardy. Keep breathing! Tomorrow, sugargods willing, we PARTY!!

Don't worry Julie ! Orange will be fine. It could be meter variance. Do it twice to see if the next numbers are the same.
Tucker threw a high number one day. I retested right away, and it was where it should be.

I'm so happy to be back in green! I am still worried about the 131 and 140 today.... should we extend the trial out a few more days to make sure this isn't going to be a trend?

I've been trying to take all of your advice and stay calm all day, but since his last trial fell apart I worry about these things.
 
Hi Julie, Glad to see Orange is back in the green! Sorry you are worrying. I am no expert, I have been looking at as many spreadsheets as I can of shooting and of OTJ cats to get more familiar with how things go. As far as I can tell as a newbie, Orange is bobbling around but not really close to scary. If extending tthe trial means testing a while longer, that can't hurt. You last trial was before my time here, what numbers for how long, would mean putting Orange back on the juice? Not a quiz, just seeking to understand how you are thinking about this.
 
Julie. I was advised to give Tucker his meals in small amounts, so as not to overwork his pancreas. Maybe that would help. Maybe Orange had a stressful day, heard some loud noises or was harassed by a bird at the window!

Hey Julie. I didn't know you were from Buffalo. I was born there and moved away at 21 to Pittsburg, PA. (34 yrs ago!)
All my family is still there. I sure do miss the wings...... although I can make them pretty good too.
Hope all is going well with Orange. Tucker is doing great and looking great too. I think he's 100% back to normal!
