Yesterday http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=77674 was another boring mostly pink and yellow day with a toe dip into blue late in the day, followed by an even worse pink and red evening.

This morning I was all set to increase, but I remembered that the cartridge I was using was the same one that went to Fort Collins and back in and out of coolers. It was close to the end, so I thought I'd start a new cartridge this morning and see if that was the issue. That 240 point drop to +3 seems to have answered that question!

We had a first this morning. I saw Neko and Theo touching noses!!! :-D :o Neko doesn't like Theo and mostly ignores him. But I caught her accepting his nose touch when she came back in from the solarium. Of course I did the +11 test from last night just after that, and then she swatted him after hopping off my lap, so all is back to normal. :lol:

In spite of the early numbers, Neko is feeling pretty good today. She had a good lap snuggle with DH after our breakfast. After her breakfast she was out on yard patrol when I heard her yowl her territory defending sound. That young black male cat was out trying to get friendly with her so I had to go outside in my robe and try to chase him away. Yesterday I saw a sign a street away for a lost cat that might match his description, so today I'll go back to the poster and give the number a call.

Wowzers Neko!! Looks like you think highly of the new cartridge! Busy cycle today Wendy?!

Nice to hear that Neko was digging Theo's nose bump. That's super sweet:) Maybe there just be more of where that came from in the near future. Good luck on tyring to find out whether that black kitty belongs to a neighbour.

And we are not at nadir yet. Neko has just consumed some more yummy fuds and earned a deduction on her post SRT guidelines. Dr. Timian (IM vet from CSU) suggested Neko get a deduction whenever her nadir goes below 70-80. She had suggested a 1 unit reduction, and I've been doing .5 to date. We'll see how low Neko goes and then decide later today. Today is exactly two weeks since the last SRT treatment.

@Tamara - Definitely busy times today. I am so hoping the kitters will get along better. Maybe as Neko feels better she will be more inclined to like Theo. She has previously liked cats in the neighbourhood, just not ones living in her house!

@Carla - blue is sweet and green even better!

It tickled me that Neko accepted the nose bump from Theo, then swatted him, just for the heck of it :lol:
How great is is to see her in green too.

Was the black cat, the lost one?

So sweet! Once upon a time, Grayson liked the dogs. He still adores Dom, but lately, he'll go so far as to run across the room to bop Jack. I'm not sure how much longer Jack will continue to take it from him, but he's been a really good sport about it. Hoping the SRT returns to nicer behavior toward the dog he used to hang out with!

It looks like I can slow down the pokie rate for a bit now! No fuds since that +6. Neko is happily napping in her basket in the solarium with Theo on the chair right above her. The sunshine makes it a very nice place to hang out.

I called about the lost cat, and apparently it was found yesterday. I'm pretty sure it's the young black male cat has been coming to our place over the last few days. I was just talking to the boyfriend of the owner and he wasn't exact on details.

@Barb - kitty antics are great fun, as long as it's nothing serious! The black cat sure looked the same as the lost one, down to the collar. I guess he just has a wide roaming area.

@Helen - it was nice to see the green again after so many days away!

@Lu - VERY cute picture of Grayson and his former best buddy. Maybe more greens will make Grayson more comfortable too!

@Pip - I had emailed Dr. Timian about the changes and she said it was "pretty unusual, but not impossible" for Neko to be responding so quickly. The expected time frame to start seeing changes is more like 3 weeks. Paws crossed here for the unusual. The typical acrocat is male and short hair so Neko the long haired girl cat is already unusual.

Hi Wendy, wow what a great cycle for Neko. Great news with the kitty finding its way back home. Congratulations on the reducie.

A nice long surf in green with one of her lowest PS following a surf. Neko spent a LOT of time outside this afternoon, after her numbers were up enough for me to feel comfortable letting her do so. The exercise is clearly agreeing with her.

@Rhiannon - missed you last time. Green is good for her and her eyes do look much better when her numbers are low!

@Ann - good cycle still going on. So happy to see it after days of blah cycles. The "lost" kitty is still spending lots of time in this part of the neighborhood, I guess he likes it here. I saw him again this afternoon being play chased by another cat.

@Sienne - a great cycle. I just wish she didn't have to start it out at 465!

@Liz - she is definitely rocking this new cartridge today!
