Fitzel's Condo

We're not really back yet. Can I vent for just a sec and say how much I &^%^$$ McAfee!!!!! They are the reason our computer keeps crashing. Spent almost 2 hours with them last night in a private chat and they still couldn't permanently fix the problem. Now, our subscription, which is paid for until Nov. 2014 - is going to expire in 6 days and they are saying it's a glitch they can't fix from their end. So, they want us to buy the software again, uninstall the one we have and then download the program from their site. Oh, did I mention how sorry they are that they can't reinstate the subscription we've already purchased? A security glitch in their program is preventing our computer from connecting to the net. We can connect to the router, but not the internet. AHHHHHHHHHH..............

Okay, that's better.

Since I have no idea if I'll be able to get around the McAfee issue later or tomorrow - (I'm doing it now by virtue of shutting the whole thing down - not having any firewall makes me more than a bit nervous, but right now that's the only way I can get online and post) I want to update Fitzel's WCR.

Her SS is now updated through this AM. I did make a typo re: my no shot number - it's 150 not 190. Fitzel is bouncing into the 200's a bit after those two hypo incidents. I'm not surprised. But I'm gratified that she's able to bring herself down into the lagoon without insulin. I know this is probably making her poor pancreas work harder than it should, but at least it still will work - somewhat.

I did want to mention that she's been throwing up; this morning and yesterday morning. No food. Just fluid. Can't really tell if it's bile or just stomach juice. It's only in the morning. She got a shot yesterday morning and none this morning. Still threw up. It happens before I feed her and once she's fed she's fine. This is new and I'm not sure if it's part of the bouncy thingy from the two hypos or something else is brewing.

Right now, she's sleeping practically on the computer. She's very, very needy kitty - won't let mommy out of her sight which makes it difficult to deal with Amma - since the baby is still separated from the rest of the pirate crew (that's what we call our three other furrs - pirates one and all - arrrrrr) When I shut off the hallway so Amma can come out and play - (our hallway is big and we're able to secure it so Amma has room to run and play with all her toys - and mommies) Fitzel sits outside one of the closed doors and cries and cries. When I do come out, she's almost inconsolable. I think juggling cats is as hard as herding them.

Thank you so much to everyone who missed us. We've missed being here and checking in on your condos and seeing how your furrs are doing. We hope all are progressing in positive ways. Don't want to stay on too long - I feel naked out here without a firewall.

shai and fitzel

For the throwing up- it most likely is acid build up in her tummy or a furball working it's way out- either way do you have any pepcid (for humans on hand)10 mg from my memory and what I have on hand ( humans do not take it here- so must be for the cats) 1/4 tablet once a day is the dose for a cat and it should help..

Just in case you are thinking of changing from MacAfee, I had a chat with DH who has a computer network background. He suggested looking at reviews of other antivirus software, such as the one done by PC Magazine http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2372364,00.asp. Note that MacAfee is not on the top 4 list. We were using BitDefender, until we mostly switched to Macs. Hope you get it sorted out soon.

Fitzel is looking good!

Comcast used to have McAlfee and switched us to Norton, and I am happy with it.

The throwing up clear fluid in the mornings sounds like what J.D. does. I give him 1/4 Pepcid and it solves the problem.

I'm pretty good at herding cats, or my cats are pretty good at acting like sheep
