hey Christi
u got some yellows at nadir so that's great. tibbsy is still in his tutu even at nadir. so frustrating but i guess we have to remember we both just started so i expect it will take us both a while. it's so nice to have you friends to take the journey with. :-D

Hi Nadine,
It's one month today since Noodle went on Lantus but it seems a lot longer! I feel like I've aged 20 years since he got sick in May. You're right--it really helps to have friends on here to give support and get advice from. I don't know what I'd do without this board and all of you on here who have helped me. Thanks for your encouragement--it really helps because Tibbs and Noodle and their numbers are so similar. I'm probably going to post a general question, but do you know what is considered a good drop at nadir? My vet said not to look for huge plunges, that we don't want that and that is how the old-style insulins act. So is dropping 20 points at nadir ok or is it really nothing at all? What do you think? Thanks!

Christi

i think we need to wait for the experts to weigh in but as i understand it, lantus is supposed to be sort of somewhat flat. not sure percentage wise but i think it shouldn't be great big drops at nadir. however i think that is the case when they are finally regulated and their curves are all in a good number range ( like yellow, blue and greens). at the beginning stage where we are, i think we are just trying to find the dose that brings most of their readings into a good range. just my understanding of it , let's see what everyone else says. how is Noodle doing?
