Good Monday morning, Everyone,

Rusty is GREEN!! Finally made it back to a green AMPS after the consecutive fur shots of a few days ago. And, we've already had a play session (with the Cat Charmer). Good test, good shot (I hope!!!), breakfast in 2 sittings, a brief brushing, and a play.

The beans, however, are not going to play on the Upper Salmon River today. The weather is pretty awful (cold, dark, windy, showers), and only we and another couple were going to do the paddle. I was worried, because 4 people are not enough on a challenging trip and Edward might need more help getting over one infamous tree that blocks the river at one point (a deep-water exit onto the tree; climb across the tree; pull the canoe over the tree; a deep-water entry into the canoe on the other side). So instead we will go to the landfill :smile: and Edward will have his chiropractor appointment today instead of tomorrow, because tomorrow we'll be going on an easier paddle on a local lake. Added bonus: I'll be around all day to keep track of Rusty's numbers.

We continue to send healing thoughts to Garland, Rocket, and all of the other kitties who are under the weather. Feel better!

Sorry about the paddle today. It sounds like you would need pretty perfect weather to pull it off. The landfill, what a trade off. :lol: Hope you have a great day!!

Hi Ella, and yay for a nice green for Rusty. That's too bad about the canceled paddle, but it sure makes sense with the weather. It sounds like it will work out nice as you'll get to spend time and watch how Rusty does today and also a chiropractor treatment for Edward. Nice to see Rusty play with his charmer, too. I'm sorry to hear that the paddle got canceled, however, it's for the best, right? Bad weather doesn't make for a very fun day anyway. I'm sure that there will be many more paddle days ahead for you all. :) Have a great day!

Sorry about the weather-We actually got rained on yesterday, the fair ended at 6, but ended early when a rainstorm came(we were already packed up, but my stuff didnt get wet) I got soaked!

YAY!!! Rusty made green - it i indeed great to see him back in the greens.

WOW on that paddle, wise decision I think not to go. You guys never cease to amaze me: over trees, hauling canoes, weather, wow. I hope you have a good paddle tomorrow. That's gotta beat the landfill today. :-D

Hi guys .. so glad to see rusty is recovering from his fur shots .. sorry to hear the paddle was cancelled but better safe then sorry .. hope you had fun at the landfill :? but hope you have an even better time tomorrow on your paddle!

Hi again,
Actually, our landfill is beautiful. Fields of wildflowers with Whiteface Mountain as a backdrop (one of the 46 High Peaks and a big ski mountain). Whenever I go there I think of "The Sound of Music".

Rusty has had a really good day, surfing the upper greens. I'm so proud of him. And he had some good plays, too. He and Edward played a good round with the Cat Charmer this evening. We were having tuna casserole for dinner, so Rusty got a little of the tuna. He was pleased!

I spent a lot of time today doing housekeeping on my computer. Stuff I've been meaning to do for a while, but never got to.
Off now to visit a few condos before the evening movie (we're watching a bunch of the old P.D. James mysteries on Netflix).

I love tuna casserole... but am not allowed to cook it anymore...seems the troops here hate the stuff.. what a bummer. maybe I'll make one just for me,. :lol: :lol:

Hi Ella. Bummer on the paddle. Here, it was cold, windy, partly sunny, and nice for washing and hanging out blankets, but not for paddling and cold rivers.
What a beautiful Day for Rusty. :mrgreen:

what a perfect day for rusty! wowser! those are just fabulous numbers - good boy!

sometimes i think of those days where the weather makes you stay inside as a little gift. opportunity for a good book, fire in the fireplace, snuggles with the kitters. don't tell on me, but i'd rather have that kind of day than a 90 degree sunny one!

hope you get to make the canoe trip soon, before fall really arrives in full force!
