8/22 Howie preshot BG 343--insulin with no food?

I woke up to find howies bg 343 20 min ago (610am CST). He's refusing to eat food and even his Tiki Stix treat. Can I give him his Levemir with no food? Obviously I am going to call to get him in to our vet clinic when they open or ill have to drive him an hour for the emergency vet. I'm very afraid this is the beginning of the end.

My vet says I must make sure the cat eat food after getting insulin in case low blood sugar happens and it's dangerous. So I think it's better to feed him just to be safe. I don't have much experience in dealing with a kitty that refuses to eat. but from what I learned from others, you can use syringe to shoot the food into his mouth a bit by bit.

You have a couple of hours before Lantus kicks in. You can finger feed or syringe feed. Do you have any idea why he doesn’t want to eat? Do you have cerenia or ondansetron for nausea?
