Rusty may still be clearing his bounce, but Edward says that he was eating nighttime food at dawn, so we may be seeing a food spike here also. In any event, I had such a hard time trying to measure what had looked like an "OK" Monoject yesterday evening, I have decided to give the Terumos another try. The thought of going through hundreds of "imperfect" MJs and still never being sure of what dose I am giving, is just too much!! So I am going to shoot what I think may be close to a 1.5U dose with the calipers set at 2.22mm (measuring from the clear plastic line as Marje taught me--not from the zero line, which is not always in sync with the clear plastic line). I'll have to try to keep my finger away from the hair-trigger plunger until the last minute. Wish me luck!

Heavy mist this morning and a nice day is predicted. For us it will be a catch-up day. Tomorrow I'll be bike riding with some friends.

Thank you for visiting us while we were preoccupied with entertaining this past weekend. Trying to catch up on the board today also (much more fun than catching up with chores!!)

Re: 8/21 Rusty AMPS 210

Hi Ella, I have the same thing happening with Maggie sometimes with the eating near dawn and a higher AMPS. I'm sure Rusty will be on his way down. It sounds so frustrating with the MJ's; I hope the Teurmos work out better this time. Have a nice day.

Re: 8/21 Rusty AMPS 210

Morning Ella,

Rusty - dude - what are you doing on the yellow floor? keeping Mannie company before he goes in for his dental? He is more than grateful.

Good luck with the syringes. I hope it all works out for you, that you find a solution you are comfortable with.

Nice on your weather - well the getting nicer as the day progresses part. Enjoy! and good luck with all that catch up stuff. :-D

Re: 8/21 Rusty AMPS 210

Hi guys ... good luck with your new syringes, I hope you don't have to battle with them like the MJ's .. Rusty, make sure you take the elevator down today and not up! Have a great day guys!

Hi Ella.
Good luck on using the Terumos again. Did I tell you Dr Dave thought it was funny, that you said they had a "hair-trigger".
Guess that's not a medical term

That's a nice blue for Rusty. He'll be back to the lagoon before you know it. Surely he will want to spend next week there, since it's gonna be in the 80's again......or is it hot for you now? It's 70's and gorgeous down here. :-D

Have a great 'catchup' day.

Nice recovery there, Rusty! Almost back to the Lagoon!
Good luck w/ the Terumos. I'm glad we went back to the MJs though. I had too much trouble w/ that #*@#(% bubble, now I see why the MJs have that cone.

Sounds like you are having great weather too. It was hot and muggy down in LA. We're spoiled up here.

Re: 8/21 Rusty AMPS 210, +5.5 122, +9 116, PMPS 150

Hi again,
I didn't expect the 150 at PMPS. Edward thought he smelled Lev. this morning, so we may have had a partial fur shot. Or we may still be clearing the bounce. Or . . .

Rusty had a good day with lots of outdoor time. We went back to the Terumos to give them a second trial. Tonight's shot (measured at 2.22mm on the digital calipers) was OK. There was a bubble, but I got it out. I know what you mean, Ann, about the cone on the MJs "absorbing" the bubble. The trouble is, when there isn't a bubble, the cone "absorbs" the insulin!

Off to visit condos. bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Nice blues Rusty but how about green?!?! Good luck with the syringes. I have never say down and looked at them that closely. I'm afraid of what I might find plus we are at such a high dose. Thank you for visiting T's condo tonight. I appreciate your good thoughts. Enjoy your ride tomorrow. I bet it is perfect weather for it!

Heading to the lagoon, Rusty? Good luck with the syringes. They are annoying. We are using calipers with the MJs and liking that method for measuring the dose a lot better. Have a nice evening. Hope you have great weather for the ride tomorrow.

Good luck with the Terumos. Here is what I've found with the bubbles. Draw excruciatingly slow. Flick any bubbles to the top. Then pull the plunger out and push in only a tiny bit and quickly to capture the bubble and expel it. If you do it slowly, it won't work. MIke has gotten quite good with it.

When we shoot, I hold onto the barrel only until the syringe is in Gracie. THEN I move my hand to the plunger. I press very firmly, hold a few seconds, let off a few seconds, press firmly again and then draw the syringe out SLOWLY. I then let off the pressure and press again outside of Gracie to make sure there is no bubble still on the tip of the syringe. By pressing firmly and releasing and then pressing firmly again and withdrawing slowly, I never have a bubble on the tip.

Hope that helps!! And THANK YOU!!!!
