Yesterday.

Arrived home from Ruby's acupuncture session. She was a good girl as usual. The vet put the needles in places that would encourage her to poop and gave her fluids afterwards. Showed me a good acupressure point along her spine that would help with motility and demonstrated how to massage her lower abdomen as encouragement for her bowels. Hope it works!

Hope everyone is having a good Caturday! :bighug:

How is Olive doing?
Hi Adrienne, Olive is fine. She goes through some periods of not wanting to eat but they are quickly remedied by a little shard of Cerenia. Been giving her supplements recommended by the IBD kitties group, like Visbiome (probiotic), Healthy Gut (digestive enzymes with pro- and prebiotics), and Kibow (yeast based prebiotic). Occasionally she throws up a small hairball but I'm not too concerned about it as long as it doesn't put her off eating later. Otherwise she is a sweet one and she sleeps spooned next to me every night.

That’s so good to hear after her struggles a few months (??) back. I no longer have any concept of time. I am so jealous you have her sleeping next to you, how I would love for Dolly to do that. I am amazed with all the hair Dolly sheds and how much bathing she does :p that she hasn’t had a hair ball in years. I often wonder if her oat grass helps. I stopped buying wheat grass plants from the market and now buy the oat grass kits from Amazon. She absolutely loves hanging out with her grass and eating the blades, I know it can help with nausea and constipation. :arghh: I have absolutely no idea why I never suggested this to you. I know it might not be a solution for Ruby or Olive but I am sitting here thinking how terrible I feel that I didn’t at least say something, I am so sorry :banghead::banghead: I know you may of thought of it yourself, seriously I feel . It would be great if it’s something you could consider. Dolly has vomited maybe a couple times in the last year and her poop is nearly always great with an occasion supplement of some Miralax if it looks too hard.
Have a good rest of your day Katherine. Please tell the girls I am always thinking of them but had a big . Sending prayers for poops and happy, hungry tummy’s and hugs to all. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks for this, Adrienne! I did try the grasses before, but the cats would ignore it. Made for a nice houseplant for a little while though. :) Maybe I will try it again. I started adding powdered egg yolks into their food again so perhaps that will work on those pesky hairballs.
