Good Morning LL

Checkers isn't feeling so good today. Had diarrhea this morning, stepped in it, and is not happy that I had to clean it off his foot.
He hurt himself yesterday afternoon, jumping off counter. By the time I talked to receptionist, and she went back to talk to Dr Dave, Checks was already walking okay.

Dave came on phone, chatted a few minutes to me about bupe, cuz I wanted to know if I could give another dose sooner than prescribed.
I told him I'd call today, if he needed medical attention.

As it is, I feel he isn't feeling well today, so tomorrow he is getting physical, bloodwork, exrays, to see the progression of the spinal issue. His legs are getting weaker. I've discussed this with Dave several times. It's not neuropothy, and B12 won't help.
It's breaking my heart to watch him aging.

Poor Checks! I hope he is feeling better soon. The foot could still be bothering him even if he is working on it. Tess is slowing down too, she has to work up to jumping on the sofa.

Can you believe that mom has the audacity to wash off that little poo foot! Give her a little 'tude before you forgive her and snuggle up!

I hope he's feeling better and better all day today. And you too!! Lots of good vetty vines and prayers coming at you both!

This is not a good day for my boy. His back end is hurting. I see it when he walks. His legs are weak and wobbly.
I think today's numbers are due to pain, but can't know that for sure, of course.
Bupe does only so much.

I don't know if high bg due to pain, is a reason to give R, but when he jumped 90 points in an hour, I couldn't wait for him to reach black floor, so gave a bit of R, at his +6. He's coming down slowly.

I wanted to give it earlier, but he isn't eating well today, and if he dropped too low, I feared he wouldn't accept even gravy.
I guess he's feeling good from the dose of bupe an hour ago. He all lovey and cuddly and head butty now. cat_pet_icon

It's looks like you did good with the R, Barb. Was this your first time? Sorry, I don't keep up with everyting going on.

It sounds like Checkers is feeling better.

J.D. is weaker in the back end too.

Awww, sending all kinds of feel better vines to Checkers. It sounds like the bupe and R are kicking in, so hopefully he'll continue to be in his lovey dovey mood.

Dyana, this is the second time I tried, but I was so fearful of giving too much the first time, that I think there was no insulin in the syringe, when I shot it.
I had a different attitude this time.

Now I'm not sure if I should give his lev on schedule. Hmmmm. Shot time in half hour. Gotta go look up some 'stuff" :roll:

Oh, I didn't see the 260 on your ss yet. What is the concern about giving the Levemir on time? Is it the eating?

Hi Barb,
I'm so sorry that Checkers is having a bad day. I hope that by tomorrow he will be feeling much better. We all have to get used to the idea that our kitties are getting older and slowing down. Rusty is a careful jumper now, too: measuring in advance every jump. But when he's on the trail of a chipmunk or squirrel, he's lightening fast. Sending lots of leg-strengthening vines to Checks tonight.
