This cat is conspiring w/my ex husband to kill me with stress. Jack was in the low to mid 100's yesterday, ate only wet food- success.... then he dropped to 66@ his +4hrs last night. I gave him 15 Temptations treats to get him back up. It's another day where I must leave the house for 12 hours and can't monitor his BG. I do have a neighbor stopping by to make sure he is awake, alert, etc. and have gone through the corn syrup, cat treat protocol just in case. I'm going to shoot 4.5 units on purpose, feed him wet food, give him about 8 treats and leave kibble out. Based on what happened earlier in the week, he's better high than low, and he didn't eat too much kibble the last time, so I'm hoping this is ok for him. I know when I get home, he has earned another reduction to 8 unis, so assuming he is not in the green, that's what his new dose will be (until he decides to panic me again)

I marked this with a question mark, in the hopes that those who have been following Jack's story (or anyone else) will offer some input on what to do. It's 3:45am my time, so I don't have much hope of getting any response before I leave the house, and I won't be online all day since I'm going to and from NYC. I'll remove the title prefix when I get home later today. If anyone has any prayers, good thoughts, warm wishes they can spare for Jack so he stays in a good zone today, we would be extremely grateful. Thanks in advance.

As I might have expected, Jack is still not used to greens and bounced. I'm glad you gave some insulin, to keep the levels down some. Good luck with the new dose.

Do you have any high carb wet food around? Temptations are horribly high in carbs, I've seen people give one or two to bring a cat up. Though I'm sure Jack liked the treats!

Jack loves Temptations, I feel bad he never gets them anymore. I have to give his sister thyroid meds in them, so he goes in the office with a little piece of deli turkey as a treat, but he would prefer the temptations.

I do have Friskies shreds, as well as prime filets. He did have the shreds for breakfast, but I wasn't sure how high it would take him or how long it would last and I was truly worried about him going too low so I gave him the treats to be sure. I knew with my other cat Mopem, I could give him 5 treats and he would go up about 30-40 points. I have no clue about Jack, and didn't get good data during the day since I was out. :-(
