8/20 FCC AMBG 85, PMBG 95

Good mornings afternoons and evenings to everyone out there. Especially the tired ones and the ones that work tirelessly to help us.

FCC is at 85 this morning and I am glad to see his numbers down a bit. I don't want to get my hopes up, but am hoping anyway that those two blues were an anomaly. The +9 snack suggestion may have solved the case. Is this where that very strong anti jinx should be employed?

Is there a point where I get brazen enough to do an OTJ trial or is it better to just keep waiting to see how he responds to his food without insulin before making it official. I am happy to do either, whatever is best for FCC.

Thank you. I am really okay plodding along and not doing a trial yet if it's best. FCC and I are both happy to not be ear poking quite as often. Especially since I think they are either getting more difficult to get a sample from or I am becoming more inept. Coin toss.

I kept thinking he was already in the trial. Why isn't he? He is getting good numbers and you are not giving insulin. If it were me, and I had permission, I would make his OTJ trial retroactive to 8/8. What am I missing here, A?

The fact that he wasn't tested for that stretch means we need to take a more prudent approach. Who knows what was happening when I was gone? I am happy to do whatever @Bandit's Mom and @tiffmaxee think is best. I'm just happy to see the little fellow with so many green numbers.

Even if I did do it retroactively I wouldn't feel comfortable using anything earlier than the 16th as the starting point. We all know how important testing is! I am just so grateful to you all for the support and wisdom offered here.

I’m watching and let’s see. I agree that the earliest we would start counting is the 16th. I’ll discuss with a few others soon. If the next few days are all green I would be likely to change this to an OTJ TRIAL. Fingers and paws crossed and anti jinx. :D

We would start counting from the 16th.

Definite anti jinx!

Thank you for keeping watch over us. I am prepared for the fact that we might need to resume insulin, but I'm hoping FCC will make it clear what he needs. Obviously I want to give him the best chance at a long and strong remission.

If he needs longer than most cats for a trial, I'm good with that as well. I feel very confident in the advice you and Bhooma offer and will always defer to your wisdom.

Thank you.

FCC makes me as nervous with those high greens as he does low blues.

Walking the line again at 95. I feel like I should make sure he is so much lower than that. He did get a little testy with that ear poke though so I am glad he wasn't blue. He gave me one of those "touch me again and I will eat your face" looks that I am sure we have all had.

It was suggested you do a couple curves by one of the people I asked to look at your ss as you don’t have any mid cycle tests for awhile. I think instead I would try and get a test between +5-9 today and tomorrow. If you can do it day and night that would be good. I suspect they will be green. If they are not maybe a curve might be needed. Don’t go there though. FCC read this and be good and green. What do you think?

Thank you for helping out. I will get those tests in come hell or highwater and I am hoping if I whisper in FCC's ears that it's this or a curve maybe he will behave. I assume it would be helpful if they were at different times during the 4 cycles? I am going to do his AMBG soon and maybe should have quoted this post over there, but I'm still not sure about the etiquette. I suppose if he's not green this morning then we might need to change our approach? I'll post the numbers shortly and give him a little pep talk beforehand.

Thanks again!

I wrote it here in case I missed you later. We can continue in your new condo. Fingers and paws crossed. And yes try different times, just during mid cycle or a bit later. Good luck. The hard part will be getting the blood from FCC and not from you I suspect.
