@Bron and Sheba (GA)Thanks for the clearer picture.
Mmm…I would have thought it was low carb but looking at the guaranteed analysis it isn’t.
I’m going to tag @Bandit's Mom to see what she thinks.
The most important thing is he eats well so do whatever you need to do, to make that happen.
Will he eat this food?
I thought all freeze dried food was low carb so I’m not sure about your one. I’ll try @Bandit's Mom again. Also @tiffmaxee

Have you tried Ziwi Peake? I don’t think Open Farm is under 10%. Ziwi is under 10%.

@Christie & MaverickGuaranteed analysis which typically is found on cans and bags of food, as you have shown on the bags above will contain minimum values (crude protein and fats) and maximum values (crude fibre and moisture) which means the values could actually be higher or lower, sometimes significantly, so using online calculators based on guaranteed analysis tends not to give you accurate information. You want to know what the % calories of each macronutrient are, including carbohydrates. I would suggest you call the manufacturer and ask for them to give you either the as-fed numbers or dry matter basis. Manufacturers’ as-fed and dry matter basis won’t have % calories for each macronutrient, they will only be the actual percentage of that components in the food, so you’ll have to go one step further and use this calculating % calories from carbohydrates
@Christie & MaverickThe Open Farm website shows their own % calories from each macronutrient, with what appears to be zero for carbs. That said, I find it odd how they report as fed and DMB values. Looks like something is off, when you have 5% protein, 47% fat, 40% fibre as-fed /and no protein, 47% fat and 42.11% fibre DMB. Seems wonky, not to mention both as-fed and DMB values they report are more than 100. Not sure this helps much.
