Nothing too unusual to report here today. Trixie did have a teeny bit of spit up right before breffis. I swear, every time I try to cut the cerenia out, this happens a day or two after the missed dose. But, instead of panicking and throwing cerenia back in, I am trying to make myself hold out and see if it was just an isolated incident...something that might happen just once in a while. If it happens again this evening, I'll bring the cerenia back in again. She did eat well right away - even before her Pepcid kicked in - despite the spit up.

She raced me up the stairs again last night...I love seeing the pep in her step!

I don't have to report for jury duty on Monday...one day down! They didn't call any jurors at all, so hopefully that means an even greater chance that I won't have to report, since my number is nice and high. I hate jury duty...such a pain.

It's a work day for me....thinking of my LL family. Have a great day!

Amy

OK, it is official, I am a freak. I get JEALOUS of everyone who gets jury duty.....but I shall send as many "Amy doesn't need to go to jury duty" vines as I can your way...my two sisters have called, one twice and me never.

Glad that Trixie is getting more pep in your step! It is always nice to see :)

Sorry about the spit up. I hope you don't need to add the cerenia back in the mix. That's great she raced you up the stairs again. I hope you won't have to report for jury duty.

  ....I always say they should call people who actually WANT to serve - and you are the first I've met! I never got called until we opened the store - now they religiously call me every 3 years.....grrrrrrrrr. I don't have time for jury duty (especially now, between caring for the cats and particularly Trixie, my Dad, and the store), AND the courthouse is not in the safest part of town....

Sorry about the spit up, but I'm glad it doesn't seem to have bothered her (it generally upsets the bean a lot more than the cat).

Yay for not having to go in for Jury Duty yet. Sending vines that you won't be needed.

I'm glad you cut back on the Cerenia. Sasha's radiology oncologist told me it isn't good to give it too many days in a row - that's why I was told to be sure to skip it on the weekends. It sure helped her with her carrier anxiety induced vomiting, though. I have plenty left and plan to use it whenever I have to take her somewhere.

Your father and your family remain in my prayers. I hope your work day goes by quickly and smoothly.

I've been called for jury duty many times and had to show up three times. Once it was in Beverly Hills and Jamie Lee Curtis and Farah Faucet were there. I was in Jamie's group and she was a riot. Our group got lectured and then sent out for 4 hours. When we got back we got inside the courtroom and Farah was being questioned. She eventually got bumped. They then picked the alternates from the remaining first group and we were excused. There was a young girl who really wanted to serve as she had just finished school and had the time. She begged them to let her stay in the jury room and wait for the next case. Of course they told her we don't have a volunteer system and sent her on her way.

Tricia, are you giving Trixie pepcid? That might help with the vomit you are seeing. If you are already giving it are you giving it more than once a day? It "might" be too much. If neither is the case I like you would see if it is a passing thing or not and give the cerenia if it persists. Max has done this a few times but it has gone away on its own. I hope that is the case for Trixie a well.

Wow, Elise...that is quite the jury duty experience! Unfortunately I don't think I'll meet anyone interesting in Trenton...unless Bruce Springsteen gets called to serve - THAT would be awesome.

Trix is on just under 5mg Pepcid BID. Any time I try to back it off, she spits up more frequently so I really don't feel inclined to cut this one back like I did with the cerenia. My vet is fine with this dose; it's at the high end of her dose range, but it IS within range.

My vet is also fine with cerenia every other day indefinitely if necessary. Of course I want to balance keeping Trix feeling as good as she feels right now (you'd never know she has kidney issues at this point) with giving the right meds - not too much, not too little. I guess I'm just afraid of any backsliding, even though she's really not showing any evidence of it. I'm afraid to mess with what I know was working, so now that I've cut one med out, I'm being extra extra extra sensitive (just when I thought I couldn't possibly be any more sensitive  ).

This really isn't a huge problem....Trix isn't nauseated, and she spits up MAYBE once every 3-4 weeks. I'm just being a paranoid bean....I try to back off one of her meds, and she spits up a day or so later. It's happened this way before, but it's probably just pure coincidence...that she may do the spit up thing once in a while just because of all that she has going on.

She certainly has eaten quite well not only today, but in general lately....for at least a couple months now.
