Hello L&L

It's been a while since I posted. But seeing as three years ago today, Murphy got his diabetes diagnosis and never would I have imagined we would still be doing this 36 months later.

Since that day, my life has changed in oh so many ways (thinking Beatles song -HELP), but it's all okay. I did international consulting, and had to change jobs, and curtail my habit of going out to eat, etc, a lot. I have learned so much about feline nutrition and feline health primarily from this group. Even though I had had cats since 1980, I hadn't recognized his subclinical episodes of pancreatitis, or that frequent vomiting and hairballs are not normal. In that sense, Murphy is healthier than he was prior to his fd diagnosis.

Murphy has IBD and chronic pancreatitis, is a terribly inconsistent eater and keeps me on my toes, but once I came to terms that remission was not in the cards for him, I began to relax a bit and take things one day at a time. So I'm writing this as encouragement to the newbies on the site - this is a very manageable disease- it just may not happen overnight. Hang in there

Hi Carol, good to hear from you and Murphy. In many ways, I found IBD harder to deal with than diabeties. I also agree on how much FD is the great teacher. I'm glad you've found the rhythm that works for you.

Happy Annifursary Murphy!
