Ok after getting some sleep I can do an update. Didnt go to bed till 8am this morning and the DH kept a check on him. After getting some sleep and running out to pick up a few things, we gave him his shot. Now for the update. The hospital took an x-ray of him and found fecal matter in colon is probably what was palpated, possible cecal impaction causing vomiting. They gave him 1mg cerenia SQ, 1mg pepcid SQ, 50ml plasmalyte SQ, laxatone orally, 15ml of warm water enema. I have the xrays showing the impact in the colon. We also found out he has a valentine shaped heart that is slightly off to the side (she said it could be pushed over due to the impact). So we have to go get an ultrasound of that as soon as we can. She referred us to a vet that specializes in felines and the clinic is one of the best cardiologist in the state. So we will do that when we can. He his eating ok for now. Gave him some food at +6 this morning with some miralax on it. Has a good PS number and ate pretty good. His is isolated to our room again (bet poor baby feels like he is in jail....LOL). He is playful, loving and cleaning himself. If the vomiting come back tonight, we have to take him back in to get another cerenia shot (found out they dont have the pills at the emergency hospital). So we will go to his normal vet on Monday, get an x-ray, update him on what is going on, demand either cerenia or ondansetron for nausea.
So my question is, the vet mentioned pumpkin to give to him. I tried to give it to him but he turned his nose up to it (hence the miralx instead). How can I get him to eat the pumpkin.
Poor baby last night didnt want to go last night. He huddled up as far back as he could in the carrier. He didnt not want to be weighed or have temp taken (he struggled the whole time). I just hope we dont have to go back again tonight.
