Missed a few days. The last condo was Thursday so won't post a link unless someone would like to read it.

Catching up:

8/17: AMPS 240, PMPS 115

While the actual testing went very fast, Spooky was all growls tonight; even before he hit the couch. He also flattened his ears and snapped. :(

08/18: AMPS 204, PMPS 166

Spooky had another anxiety attack this morning. Thankfully, by the time it started, the actual test was done, so Brian was getting ready to unwrap him anyway. :(

08/19: AMPS 164

Spooky just growled a little under his breath this morning. You could barely hear it. :)

The plan for today was to try and do a mini curve. Of course, the best made plans of cats and men...

I have been fighting a sinus infection all week. Normally, I would have done my best to rest yesterday. However, my friend's mom was given 27 insulin pens from her late best friend's family. She doesn't use the type of insulins the pens held (there was a mix of Humulin and Humalog pens). My friend thought perhaps Spooky could use them. No- but my brother most certainly could!

So I drove the pens to his house. He has been sick, and asked if I would take my sister-in-law and niece school shopping. This turned out to be all day excursion. I walked in the door literally 5 minutes before it was time to test Spooky.

I was exhausted and fell into bed. Today, after going to Petsmart (more on that in a minute), I thought I would lie down for a nap. Usually, when I take a nap, it's only 20-30 minutes tops. Except for today. I slept straight through the +5, +6, & +7 timeframes. ohmygod_smile
And still feel icky.

Back to PetSmart...Pets Supplies Plus has had Fancy Feast on sale all month. The Cat Crew's favorite flavor is turkey. Guess which flavor I have not been able to buy all month? I bought a case of the chicken, but they don't like it as much as the turkey. So today I thought I would try PetSmart. If I had to pay full price, so be it. Well, it's on sale this week too. And- they had plenty of turkey.

They also had Sheba turkey pate on sale. The numbers are the same; the only ingredient not listed is liver. Everything else is pretty much identical to FF. Some of the cans had "buy one get one free" coupons so I bought 12 (6 free!) to see if they would eat it.

I do not have a Petsmart card, so asked for an application so I could get the sale price. The cashier did not have any, but let me have everything for the sale price. :-D

Very happy with Spooky's numbers!

I'm calling the vet tomorrow to see if perhaps his dental can be scheduled. I'm thinking she may want to wait until after his next curve, but it certainly won't hurt to ask!

Re: 8/19 Spooky AMPS 164

Here is Spooky's last condo. Yes, we need that link.

Great job on the testing. I'm sorry he had another anxiety attack, poor guy. But only a soft growl tonight? That is definitely progress! Does he get a treat after his test or does he run away too quick? Anne said she had to make a kitty burrito to test Zener at first and now he gets on his testing footstool when we tell him it's time for a test.

Great job on the food shopping too! Don't you love it when you get a deal? You are a sweetheart to take DSIL and DN shopping. Dear sister in law and dear niece. DH is another one that is used often, dear husband. I think that one has a tiney bit of a sarcastic tone to it.

I would encourage you to insist on the dental. It will help Spooky a lot.

I have to ask, are you from Australia? Have a nice evening!
Liz

Thanks Liz! I wasn't sure if I needed to post the link or not since it had been a few days since I posted.

Sorry- the soft growl was this morning. This evening, he cried a little, but no growling and no snapping! I am so proud of him!
He started pacing back and forth by the couch this evening, as if to say "Come on, I know what time it is. Don't you?" Of course, once everything was ready, he started to dart into the side room.

His number is up this evening, but that's okay. He's acting okay- that's the important thing.

We give him a treat before testing, to try to get him to stay still long enough to wrap him. He does not stick around long enough for a treat after the test!

Oh! I have to share how well Spooky has trained us. It used to be, he would eat in the kitchen with the rest of the Cat Crew. Now, he will lap up most of the water in the food, then come into the computer room where DH is (wasn't sure if abbreviations were used on the board or not ;-) and yes- I'm sure there is some sarcasm in there sometimes LOL ). Then, either DH or I carry his food into the computer room, where he commences to eat. No eating with the common kitties!

I do love a deal! And it was so nice of her to give me the sale price even though I do not have a card.

I am from the States and should probably add that info. I usually don't add a lot as far as location, etc. goes. Combination of being a little paranoid and having a friend who was cyber-stalked.

I would hunt him down and give him his treat anyway. It will help build the association with the treat. or maybe even the clicking,
then treat.

And I knew it wasn't australia. They don't have a petsmart. :?
I think she's wondering about the koala.
