I had thought Zener was having a bounce and breaking it last night, but now he is back in the pink and quite similar to his AMPS and PMPS from yesterday. Is this a failed dose increase rather than a bounce? I would love some input from more experienced eyes.

Hope everyone's day is staring well!

Wish I could help. I don't think that it would already be a failed reduction and must still be a bounce since a bounce can last up to 72 hours in some cats. Hopefully someone with more experience will come along and let you know for sure.

Hi Anne,

I agree with Melissa. The Z man may still be clearing a bounce from those blues less than 48 hours ago. He's almost bloo now...by human glucometer measure...

Thanks Melissa and Sandy, he does love to bounce after tasting blue or green. I'll stay the course for another two cycles and see how numbers look then. Thanks so much!

An update on Liz, Zener's other bean. Cardiologist report was good, reviewed all her tests, blood-work etc and reassured us the skipped heartbeats are benign. She will have a stress test tomorrow, mostly to reassure us that she can exercise. Also, he scheduled a sleep study as poor sleep can be responsible for this sort of thing. Although these skipped beats are unpleasant, we are reassured that Liz won't drop dead, so that's good!

Liz asks me to tell everyone thanks for all their kind words and good wishes. And, to let everyone know how much the help from everyone here is appreciated. We could never be getting where we are with Zener without you, and it is a great stress relief to have such wonderful help available. :YMHUG:

In a little over a week, I am set to travel to Germany for a conference and will be gone for 8 days. Liz will be back at work as well as being Zener's sole caregiver for the first time (not counting when I had my emergency surgery a few weeks ago), so she will likely be posting to ask for advice while I am away.

We weigh Zener weekly and today was the day. He weighed 13 lbs, 3.5 oz. We are struggling to keep his weight stable, just as we work on improving his appetite. He will gain a few ounces, then lose a few. He has fluctuated between 13 lbs 10 oz and 13 lbs 1 oz since the end of May. It seems the past few days, his appetite is better, so we will try to increase the amount of food at each meal and try larger meals rather than mini ones. See if it helps with his weight.

He looks very sleek and black panther like and it hasn't hurt him to lose a bit of weight. We would like for him to stay at about 13 lbs 8 oz as his ideal weight.

I'm glad to hear Liz got a good report from her cardiologist! And yes, you need to remember that a bounce can take up to 72 hours.

Also, you might want to put a number in the blue +6 on your SS.

Thanks Sienne, we are relieved! I'm not sure why the number isn't showing up. It does on my computer. I'll fool around with it and see if I can get it sorted.
