Yes, let's see how he does on this dose. You are checking the syringes for zero alignment?

Yeah. I accidentally squirted the entire dose out of the first syringe trying to do the flick/squirt part.

Does that even need to happen with this small of a dose?

Edit: For clarity, I used a second syringe to draw the dose I gave him. I knew not to put the first one back in.

You shouldn't inject air on excess insulin from the syringe back into the pen. But if you haven't shot Dexter with the syringe, you can insert it back in the pen and draw more insulin if you need to. You needn't use a new syringe to draw more insulin from the pen.

Flicking the syringe for bubbles & squirting it out?

I guess it's almost impossible to avoid an air bubble?

Correct. You inject air into a vial but not into a pen.

It's almost impossible because you have to inject air into it first, due to negative pressure being how they work. Whereas with a pen they're already pressurized by the plunger inside of them.

Just finished setting up the auto-feeder for 4x a day 1/8th cup each time. That means he'll be at least being fed every 6 hours even once while we're asleep.

I'll fill in the time when I take shots and give a few kibbles as well as a treat with them. He's doing pretty well today tbh. I think it does actually help to keep food consistently in his stomach vs just twice a day :)

Just gave dinner and fat .10u shot. I didn't mean to but it was hard to get correct.

Will monitor @ 10PM and make sure he doesn't plummet. He should be fine! He gets more food @2AM as well.

I'd say even though it wasn't entirely green, it's the most consistent day we've had so far!

He only seemed to fluctuate about +-10 points.
