Yesterday...

6th cycle since the last green nadir.

I just picked up the cabergoline. The dose is 56 mcg (0.56 mL). The pharmacist said I can add it to his food, so I'm going to start it tomorrow morning. (Chino eats from a bowl in the morning and always finishes before the fuzzball, but he eats from a plate at night and I don't want the other one eating his medicated food.)

This is great timing. I start a new pen tomorrow morning and I have 3 left. Right now, each lasts about 11 days, so he'll remain on Lantus for at least a month before I switch to Levemir, and if his insulin needs are reduced before then, I'll know that it's the cabergoline.

Paws, fingers, toes crossed here on the cabergoline. Even if it just lowers the dose and he feels better, that is an accomplishment.

I thought his BG would start rising again after +4, when the R wore off, but he's still dropping at a very safe rate! 176 at +6

7th cycle since the last green nadir. I can't increase tonight, since Chino's starting cabergoline tomorrow. As long as he's regularly coming back down to blue (and staying under 400), I'm going to try to keep his Lantus dose the same for the first week.
