Good morning. Thanks for earlier feedback. Tootoo's AMPS is higher than expected at 146. Missing the morning doses has caught up a bit. So I'm going to stick with the .75 this morning since I will be here most of day. I would like to try a light dose tomorrow morning to see how he does so that I can feel more confident giving him at least a light dose on the days I'm not here.

What do most people do who work all day? What are the chances of hypo at a dose he's used to? I know things change - that's why we home test - but I need to be able to dose him every morning and know he's safe while I'm gone. This is my problem, and I'd love to hear back from those who've had similar problem.

Thanks!
Debbie

I work all day, but I am very lucky in that I live within 2 miles of work and I often go home to check on Buster when I can. You want to be sure Tootoo has food available throughout the day. If you're not already using an auto feeder you might want to pick one up. You can add a little water to the canned food and freeze it in an ice cube tray. It will melt throughout the day in the auto feeder.

I'm not a dosing advisor, but it seems to me you might be better off shooting .50 twice a day, rather than just shooting .75 once. Lantus works better if you can get consistent dosing twice a day. I understand being hesitant about shooting, as Tootoo has some beautiful green numbers! Buster has hit lower numbers recently, and I'm not sure how I would feel if I couldn't check on him. The more data you get, the more you will learn about how Tootoo deals with different scenarios. Make the most out of the days you are home with extra testing.

Thanks Tara. I think you're right about sticking with a consistent dosing. I'm monitoring him closely today and tomorrow. From the AMPS of 147 he came down to 98 at +2 and 67 at +4. I wish I could check on him when I work, but I can't. I'm too far away.

What's the best kind of autofeeder to buy? We have a PetSmart near here. Do they carry one you would recommend?

Give my best to Buster!

What and when did he eat since AMPS? (trying to see a link, if any, between numbers and food).

Nice numbers today!
