Good Morning Everyone,

Yellow AMPS!!! Successful pill-taking this A.M. I used the pill splitter and got 4 little wedges! Wrapped one in a little (unsalted cultured) butter and put it in Stu's dish and he ate it all (at least I didn't see the pill piece after he finished the butter). Last night Stu didn't eat his +9 snack (all of it was still in the automat) and I think he may have been asleep! He ate 1st installment of breakfast (By Nature 95% Turkey & turkey liver), but not all at once, the way he usually does. Then he curled up in a chair for awhile and then finished installment #1. I took DH to yoga class and then Stu and I went outside for a bit. Then he came in and wanted installment #2. I decided to test him first and got 113 (steep drop), so installment #2 was Merrick Thanksgiving Day Dinner (12%). I hope that will slow the drop. The litterbox has received its contributions.
It looks like it will be a nice day here today: 58 degrees this morning. After I do another test on Stu, I'll go out for a racewalk. Got to get back in shape! Everyone have a good day,

You two are amazing! Hope you enjoy your walk and as for you Stu...the blues are a good place to be today...do you hear me young man? It's too chilly there to go down into the water...know what I mean? A nice blue surf would be wonderful. Full moon is next Tuesday...Full Sturgeon Moon....party plans have begun! That will give all the kitties something to think about.... :razz:

Enjoy you walk Ella - I hope you get a great workout. YAY :-D on the pill cutter - what a relief that must be - nice too that Stu is getting it in - hooray for butter huh. I will have to remember that the next time I have to pill one of the cats. Sure beats loosing a finger... and nice catch on the +2 - somehow intuition kicks in for us, and we do get the numbers we need to see. Looks like Stu has plans for today - best check and make sure he hasn't found is scuba gear. :?

Finally about to go out to racewalk! (I was filling out the Hypurrcat questionnaire). I fed the 70 some 12% at +3.5 and we are up to 86 at +4.5, so I didn't feed anything except a little tuna as a treat.

Sounds like Stu isn't feeling to bad today, look at him go....yellow, blue, green! Woohoo! Sending green surfing vines to Mr. Stu. Hope you enjoy your racewalk...I'm tired just thinking about it, lol

Have a great walk, I too am one who needs to get back in shape. You make me feel guilty, then I get sucked back into the board and there goes the morning. :lol:

Hi again,

Just got some cautiously exciting news: Dr. Peterson's office called (Hypurrcat). They got my e-mailed questionnaire and Dr. Peterson has already reviewed my answers. He says that Stu's diabetes would not be a factor in the I-131 treatment. Next week, when we have the blood work it should be run with Stu on his hyperT medication (the Methimazole) and that Stu's vet should get a complete urinalysis, a Vet screen, T4, and CBT. Dr. Peterson will review the results and if Stu's renal values are to his satisfaction there is no reason why Stu wouldn't be able to have the I-131 procedure.

So keep your fingers and paws crossed for next Wednesday, the 25th (the day after the Full Sturgeon Moon Party)!!!!

Ella, Great news on the I-131! We will keep paws crossed that Stu passes all his tests and that he gets to have the treatment.

great news I have not met any cats that have had this done guess our clinic does not refer anyone with the treatment I wonder why with all the thyroid cats out there makes me wonder best to you with this paws crossed for Stu :YMHUG: :YMHUG: cat_pet_icon

that sounds like very hopeful news! Everyone I know of who has had that treatment done for their cat has been glad they did. My mom is looking into it now for one of hers. I hope it works out!

Ella - I am SO HAPPY for you! This is great news!! and for Stu too. HOORAY! I know I have mentioned it before, but I have had this done for a kitty of mine several years back, and never regretted it for a moment. I have always felt that it gave him a fighting chance at a good and happy life. It just brought everything back in line. Good Luck! and I hope this works for Stu. YAY!!!!!!

Great to hear Stu crossed the first hurdle. Fingers and paws crossed that the rest of the labs qualify him for the procedure.
