We have a little bounce this morning. I wanted to go to sleep early last night but Putty had other plans for me. I meant to get a +9 but did not wake up until the very loud thunder at 4 am. I could have gotten up then but Putty was sleeping on my legs and I was too skeerd to get up. nailbite_smile

I posted yesterday that I was out all day college shopping.....I should have said shopping for a college not shopping for college stuff. My DD is going to be a high school senior this year so no tears yet.

I thought you were going to be in need of the ledge soon with your DD leaving...whew...another year...whew okay...we can deal with that. :lol: Shopping FOR a college , not shopping for college! :lol:

A very strange day.....not sure where Putty went between +3 and +9.......I suppose if I had tested him I would know the answer to that question. :roll:
I do not have any predictions on where he will go tonight.....oh wait, yes I do. I am very tired so.......
 
Bet you're kicking yourself in the butt for that statement, aren't you Miriam! You know you shouldn't be giving out that information, especially if you really wanted to sleep!!

The I-131 treatment is a one-time, subcutaneous injection of radioiodine. It apparently cures hyperthyroidism completely in 98% of cats. After the injection the kitty stays in the facility for 10 days because he is radioactive (this is to protect the beans and everyone else). The only drawback that I can see is that if the cat has poor renal function, this cure for hyperT could crash him. That is why the renal function has to be checked so carefully (the condition hyperT masks renal disease). With hyperT medication, such as Methimazole (Tapazole), if the renal function is getting worse, the medication can be reduced, or even stopped for a while while the kidney disease is dealt with. If the I-131 procedure is done, however, there is no going back and the cat will probably die from his kidneys crashing. The Hypurrcat Facility in NYC and Bedford Hills NY is apparently the gold standard for I-131 treatment. They do very careful testing for kidney function and if it looks like the cat might not be a viable candidate for I-131, they won't do it.

How nice that you have another year of high school to get through!!!!! My DH was a department chair at NYU for 18 years and is now emeritus.
