They say Paw Prints Pizza is open and ready for bushiness! They are running a Caturday Catmint special today - lots of nip in those pies! They have even used their signature nip cheese.
Best order early! so. well. anyways.
Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of peppermint and vanilla and chocolate and caramel swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, sprinkled with peppermint chips and a chocolate caramel drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride.
I hope everyone had a great Furday. Mine was great - time spent with my DD and William and Nicholas, up on the Skykomish! Nicholas was so excited to be going there with his mom and little bro William. He asked so many times in the morning to go to Jack's Pass. So we did! The drive was great - we had sunny skies, and warm temps, and the views were great. It was so nice to see the good weather, as I had read it would be mostly cloudy.I guess the weather man read that one wrong.  Here's what I wrote in last nights post about yesterday: "Hi Everyone! WHAT A GREAT DAY! We made it to the Skykomish River at Jack's Pass, which is located 20 miles in off on HWY 2, near Steven's Pass. The scenery there is incredible, and the river? WOW.
it's one of those places one goes to experience the river. I love it there, it has to be one of my fav places to go when I don't need the hike, but want the river, the mountains, the scenery. Erin, my DD, brought William and Nicholas. WOOT! A family outing! Nicholas was so in his element, showing mom and his fav things about Jack's Pass, and the River. At one point he's tugging on her shirt tail and says "Mommie! I LOVE jack's Pass. You like it too? Please??" It was so darn cute. Her response was "Nicholas, it is by far the best place I have ever been!" You should have seen that kid's smile: ear to ear.
  We had lunch there, threw a ton of rocks in to the river, played "Pooh Leaves" (DGS's version of pooh sticks) off of the bridge, and waded out into the river getting soaked in the process. What a fun time. On the way home today from Jack's Pass we made a brief stop at the Beckler River junction with the Rapid River. It is one of Nicholas's fav spots. He was so determined, and asked very nicely if he could stop and see the river. So we did. Visit was brief, but he was, as he would put it, Major HAPPY! " Picassa link: Skykomish River @ Jack's Pass The first few photos are of Nicholas at our sewer excavation site. The last few photos in the album are of Beckler River, taken on the bridge there.
Our Sewer Project is now completed. I was impressed with the firm that we hired: on time, professionally done, no messin' around. They explained all, worked hard to finish the job yesterday. It is still unknown what caused the collapse. We really can't say for sure. They did pull some fibrous tree roots out of the line. Age of the line too is a factor (40 years). They also uncovered several small slabs of asphalt that was resting on the line. We have no clue where that came from, possibly from the original development of the area when the house was built. Perhaps it was the combination of all those factors.... We now do have, mega bucks later  , a fully operational sewer, a very well made one. What a relief!!!
Normalcy in MusketeerVille!
Elsa has her SR Wellness checkup this morning. She will not be pleased.... It means after all, a trip in that horrid box called a carrier.... She is lucky though: she inherited Mannie's luxury travel carrier, complete with fleece, open sides, and ample roaming room. We shall see if it helps her deal. LOL: probably not. All is well with Lola and Bug. The welcoming committee was waiting when DD, Nicholas and William and I returned from our river trip yesterday. It was funny though - the door opens and they begin their welcome home dance and routine, until they realized that it was not just me.  They both just froze, and one could see the look in their eyes: "WHAT? You brought back those tiny humans?!?!?!?" Elsa was nowhere to be found. She knew....  Nicholas then gave them pets (even Bug) and all was well in MusketeerVille once again. silly cats! Lola was good while we were gone. The house was intact!
I will count my blessings, as the thunderous herd begins their 5AM run......
Have a great day everyone! It will be catch up day here: shopping, errands, cat fuds, a few bills to pay, laundry, maybe some cleaning. Maybe not on the last one. I hope later in the day to talk a walk to the shore through the woods here near the house. Weather should be OK today, sunny and 75 until showers are predicted in the evening. Good to go I think!
KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!
