Re: 8/16 Rusty AMPS 133, +10.25 131, PMPS 132
Yep, Rusty listens to Vermont Public Radio Classical. I think he likes classical music, but he has no choice: that's what he gets to listen to (along with classic jazz). Stu was indifferent to music, but Alice loved classical music, particularly opera, and particularly Wagner, Strauss, and Gregorian Chant.
Our paddle today was great and the weather improved all day. We paddled about 10 miles on Long Lake and into a wilderness pond--Owl's Head Pond--via its outlet (ancient beaver dams, all overgrown with grass).
Rusty was in the mud room, waiting for us. He had eaten his lunch from his automat, but apparently slept through his +9 snack. I tested him at +10 and gave him a few boiled chicken cubes. Then we all sat outside on the crabgrass while Edward and I drank a beer and Rusty chased a bug down into the cellar window well (where he spent about 25 minutes "working" the bug). Then we all just sat in the golden sunshine of the late afternoon and relaxed. I love the late afternoon at this time of year. Our yard is full of goldenrod and it is beautiful.
I was saddened this evening to learn that Jan's Sara passed away last night. We send our deepest sympathy to Jan and her family.
