Last night into today's numbers (Advocate glucometer numbers in parens; OTU number without parens)

+10.5 1.25U <---Have an evening meeting away from home. Choice to shoot early or late. I shot early.

Yesterday's PM report---> Continuing to bounce/lack duration. I could not have fed him small frequent meals early in his cycle any more than I did yesterday morning.

AM report--->Because I don't know Bastian other than as a diabetic cat with a steep curve, I can't say whether this bouncing is affecting him or not. He continues to be indifferent to people and other cats, loves open windows and would love an open door (he's a bolter), and loves food.

PM report---> Shot at +10.5 because I had to shoot early or late. DH is getting a little annoyed with Bastian's appetite as he is intimidating the young'uns (Nellie and Casey) away from their food plates. Explained to DH that he could close Bastian up in his own room.

Sorry he is beign so tough. You are seeing a pattern like what I was seeing when he was on lantus.

Not that it is helpful, but here are the things I tried:

1. Shooting at +10 if he was over a certain line and rising. This helped but is really difficult to sustain from a schedule perspective.

2. Using the peak or midcycle micro-dose booster technique that is oh-so very renegade LOL. For this if his midcycle or nadir was too high, I'd give a small booster to grab back some overlap for next cycle. As you can see from my logs, this helped both lower nadir (fairly predictably) and increase duration (fairly unpredictably), but also caused scheduling havoc for the bean.

I did try a rebound check by halving the dose too, and at first that seemed to confirm rebound with good cycles but then he kicked right back into consistently high cycles and numbers increasing, which led me back to the path of dose increases all over again.

Sorry he is being so difficult but I certainly thank you for being willing to try to regulate him on Lev and caring for him. Give him a kiss from me. Tell him I said to stop making your life so difficult!

I can better maintain scheduling chaos than you could because I am home more during the day. I am waiting for him to settle into this new 1.25U dose (started Saturday night) before I add something new to the mix.
