Good morning all -

Pretty uneventful morning around here. Emma is quiet, but ate all her food last night and was ready for more at shot time this morning. The dogs are quiet and don't seem to want to get up today. I think it's because of the gray skies and rainy morning we're having. I don't blame them - I didn't want to get up either! It's so nice to stay in bed when it's dark out, I could've snuggled up under the blankets for the rest of the morning. But alas, I must go to work. Blech. I guess it's not so bad - at least I have a job, right? And this week should be a more interesting week than I've had in a while, so I won't complain.

Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Good morning Kristen & Emma. Enjoy your day.
My J.D. is in the yellow, too. May they both come nicely down to blue today.

Re: 8/16 Emma AMPS 275

It's a yellow day for kitties. Better than pink I guess.
Hope Emma shows some blue for you when you return from work

Re: 8/16 Emma AMPS 275

Yellow is good, better than pink, which is where Mannie is this morning. I hope Emma has a great day. And that your weather improves. Emma - on to the blues girl, OK?

Re: 8/16 Emma AMPS 275

Yellow is a good start, hope she come down soon. should be a good day to chillax for her.

Re: 8/16 Emma AMPS 275 +9.25 263 vet update

I just heard back from the vet about last week's C&S. They found enterococcus bacteria and want to treat her with 14 days of clavamox. The dr. said there is some controversy around whether or not this type of bacteria needs to be treated, and how responsive it is to treatment, but given Emma's history of kidney issues she would rather treat it than let it go.

Anyone have any knowledge in this area?

I don't really know much about the meds or bacteria, did you post on Health too? Can it go away on it's own?

I hope Emma is able to catch some cool blues today! It's a bit muggy her in Mass, huh?

Re: 8/16 Emma AMPS 275 +9.25 263 vet update

gEE i JUST LOOKED AT YOUR PICTIURES What a family--bEAUTIFUL!!
Moonie has been peeing a lot, hope she doesnt have a UTI also!--
Never heard of that bacteria, but I'm sure peeps here have.
That could be the reason for Emma being in the yellow numbers--I like Clavammox, it works good for Moonie, But she hates it & spits it all over me & the room we are in!! It's banana flavored, Cats Dont Like That!!--Soooo, do the best you can!
Hugs from us!!

Hi Kristen,

yes please cross post in the health forum...some of our vet techs check in there daily,
make sure you put the name of the meds in your subject line too.

Or add it here to your subject line too.

Hope things work out either way.

Re: 8/16 Emma AMPS 275 +9.25 263 vet update

Thanks all - I'll cross post it in health. I've been running around doing errands since emma's pm shot, so I stopped and picked up the a/b's anyway. I'll see what kind of response I get and if it looks like a good idea to treat it, I'll start them in the morning.
