Re: 8/15 Tarragon AMPS 198

Morning M & T!

I busted out laughing when i read what you wrote in Leo's condo last night, "hush your mouth girl"   Funny!

Very nice AMPS for Tarragon this morning, how is his asthma?

Re: 8/15 Tarragon AMPS 198

He coughed a few times before his inhaler last night, but didn't cough through the night. I also gave him 1/4 of a tablet of Claritin so hopefully that helped as well.

Re: 8/15 Tarragon AMPS 198

Re: 8/15 Tarragon AMPS 198

That's a very pretty AMPS for T....sorry to hear he was coughing before his puffs.....hope the Claritin helps a little. Did you give a puff of Albuterol?

Re: 8/15 Tarragon AMPS 198

Sherry - I did! I gave the puff of Albuterol 1/2 hour before the Flovent. Should I not space them so far apart? I am doing 4 puffs of the Flovent until I get your package. The Claritin seemed to help as well. Thank you so much!

The vet called with Tarragon's blood test results. She said everything was normal except his eosinophil levels. From what I understand, this is a type of white blood cell that when elevated means allergies or parasites. That would make sense with his asthma issues right now. They are going to check for heartworms just in case. She also wants a chest X-ray when she gets back from vacation.

I'm glad you got the results.

This is what I found about high eosinophil count. Thought it was interesting.

"Anyways, in my experience they are caused by allergies. More often than not it helps tremendously to simply remove as many plastic products from your cat's life as possible.
Use glass or metal bowls, nylon collars should be replaced with cotton or silk (eBay is loaded with cotton cat collars). Cover all your cat's favorite sleeping spots with 100% cotton towels or sheets. Throw out all the plastic toys if she carries them in her mouth.
Litterboxes don't seem to be a big issue as cats don't spend a lot of time in them.

Wash your cat's stuff in one of the fragrance free detergents & if you use softener, the same applies.

Use flea products only if needed & stick with what your vet sells. My cats stay inside & I haven't needed to use flea prevention for years. I spray around the windows & doorways the spend time near & check them often.

Use mild or diluted cleaning products.

If it was my cat, I'd see about feeding her grain free food only & I'd also see about adding an immune boosting product to her routine but if you don't do anything else, get rid of & cover the plastic products & use the "free" washing products."

Thank you Natalia!!!! We use ceramic bowls, but his bed is definitely not 100% cotton and he wears a synthetic collar. Hmmm. I am going to have to study that list. The food Is another issue. Does FF chicken classic have much grain?

OK pretty consistant with Tarragon's ailments so good Blood Tests.
Dont know about FF..But hope he will feel better & better! Hugs & Lubs from Us!
