Looks to me like Pumbaa bounced after his wonderful string of greens yesterday, and that he's trying really hard to clear that bounce. I am so thrilled that the bounce was only in yellow numbers!
Pumbaa also perked up and became his normal, devious, game-playing self towards his PMPS today. That's another sign that he's going to drop. I fed Beck, the drooler first, before the PMPS routine, and Pumbaa was right in my face begging chicken. As soon as I put Beck's food bowl down, Pumbaa disappeared...under the futon in the guest bedroom. He knew testing/feeding/shooting was up next, the little stinker!
And he was also probably in cahoots with Beck, because, since Beck normally tries humping my leg after she gets her dinner (trust me, Beck thinks humping my leg is a way to show gratitude, not as a control/dominance thing), the fact that I was kneeling down to try and get Pumbaa out from under the futon provided Beck with the perfect opportunity to jump me from behind. (Beck and I both had cigarettes after that encounter tonight!) I think I heard Pumbaa under the futon, snickering! Little ****!
In any case, I ignored Pumbaa and he came out on his own and I was able to grab him for testing/feeding/shooting. His empty belly and my not being willing to play his game of being forced to chase him around the house won out. I might not be smarter than a 5th grader, but sometimes I can outsmart my animals!
I'm looking forward to seeing Pumbaa go back into greens tonight. Even though I would love another night of halfway decent sleep.
