God morning,
Ivy seems to be back to herself this morning. She even greeted me and DH with purrs and hugs first thing. (Usually reserved for me but he was up for an extra early workout, so he got to her first) :p

I have to go in to my office (out of the house) today for about 2 hours around +4. Not thrilled since I work from home but we have a meeting;)

What?? In person meetings. Isn’t that a relic??
Hoping she will be stable for me. Good news is I’m 10 minutes from home and can watch from the Libre in case of a real problem.

Thinking about an increase, maybe tonight. Although I don’t love increases at night since sometimes she gives immediate and wild action so that could lead to an all nighter for me.
Plus we are having dinner on Saturday night about 30 minutes away and by then she would be at a point of most likely real action.
So I need to think about this today:bookworm:

Well… wishing you all a calm and safe surf today :cat:

Good morning Staci!
Ivy has been nice and steady! Maybe the special spa treatment soothed everything :p
Hope she will continue this path and you won't have to worry about her while you are in the meeting.

This is the 4th cycle since the skip so maybe good to wait a bit more to make sure that her tank is full?
Either way, there is the "I" threat, Ivy! Time to get serious! :p

Hope you have a wonderful, worry-free day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good idea, Kit. Thanks for the suggestion. I really appreciate your thoughts. Maybe safest to wait till Sunday morning and I’m home and all that safe stuff

Hope you and Mikan have a great and calm day today :bighug::bighug::cat:

Hi Staci,

ohhhh....so good to read Ivy is her old self again! :cat: And purrs and hugs sound so sweet. Your husband was lucky today!

Oh my, I hate in house meetings since Binie is sick. Before, I always liked them because it also meant chatting and having lunch together. So good, it is not far away for you. I have to drive for 1.5 hours by train one way, so it's really a long day. Glad to see she is stable while you have your meeting. Good girl Ivy!

Good luck with the increase, if your decide to start tonight. I hope it's a good dose for her, with good numbers without drama. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I hope you have a nice day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, oh wow that’s so far to commute to your office. I hope you are able to work virtually most of the time. That’s a very long day traveling.
I’m very lucky our office is close to home. But I still work virtually since the pandemic.

I did go back to the office about 2 years ago but when Ivy broke her leg last May 2023, I just couldn’t leave her. So I switched to all virtual and I’m not planning on going back to the office. Ivy’s needs are too intense and I can’t be out of that house.
(I do realize I’m very fortunate I can do this for her).

As I was getting dressed this morning she started to drop under 100 on the Libre. I was like, really Ivy??? It’s like she knows I had to leave so she would pull a fast one to keep me home.

I gave her a tsp of 12% and she stayed stable. I don’t really think it was the carbs. I think I just got lucky ;)

I hope you and Binie are having a good night and you will have a great sleep.
Lots of luck tomorrow at the vet. Paws crossed for success with everything. Please give Binie kisses from me :bighug::cat::bighug:

Hi Staci,

I am so happy Ivy stayed safe today. It must have been very stressful for you to leave the house. But thank god you stayed in a distance, where you could rush home quickly. How do you manage to keep Ivy in range with the Iphone? The reader looses contact fast, if Binie just moves a little bit in the same room or on the terrace.

Yes, we are very lucky and priviliged, we can work most of the time at home! I know many people don't have this luxury and I couldn't imagine leaving Binie alone every day. I started this job during pandemic and they allowed me to work remote most of the time. Before Binie was sick, I went to the office once a week but my boss is so nice and I can join our team meetings remote. Sometimes I have meetings with clients, where I have to be live. I am always nervous to do this but sometimes I have to. Most of the time I ask my neighbor to look after Binie but in september she has to go away for six weeks for medical treatment. I hope I find another solution or Binie is just stable enough, to stay on her own.

I would love to go to bed now but Binie is going a bit low. Unfortunately I can not rely on the alarm, when she is on the terrace, because the reader is always loosing contact. Taking her inside is not really an option, because she had to stay inside all day because of the heat. So I try to keep myself awake a little longer and maybe work with an alarm clock, if it takes too long. For sure I will give Binie kisses from you! Same for Ivy from me! I hope you have a calm night after this stressful day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I leave the phone at the edge of her room and she usually just sleeps in her bed when I go out. But she can go into the adjoining room and the phone will still capture her data since she’s in range.
I have to shut the door to the basement so she doesn’t wander upstairs as then she would be out of range.

Are you using the iPhone these days or the reader for Binie?

I wonder why you are losing contact if you are within 33 feet or so? If she’s on the terrace is the reader close to her or inside?
I don’t think it will read through certain walls.
At the vet the other day they Took Ivy into another room to draw her labs but her phone was still reading her sensor so she must’ve been close enough even though in another room. Eventually, we lost contact. They must’ve moved her somewhere else a bit further because then I lost contact but when they brought her back, of course it rejoined the network.

Do you have good Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in your house?
I hope you can get some rest tonight and yes, I just keep resetting my phone for like 20 or 30 minutes so I can keep an eye on what’s going on because I know I can’t keep my eyes open when it’s all night long.

I really rely on my phone to wake me up each time and then I keep resetting that darn alarm.

Ivy says thanks for the kisses :kiss::kiss:

I hope your in office meeting went well - alas, at the current job, there's a fair amount I have to be physically there for (they won't build me a robot that I can remote control for some reason :joyful::joyful:). I told a friend today that I needed a job that pays me to just stay home and pet Kit.

Scritches to Miss Ivy. :bighug:

Scritches given. Ivy says many thanks, Alicia. Please give Miss Kit Cat lots of pets and kisses from us.

I like your robot idea. That would be awesome. It’s great you can do at least part of your job remotely.
I think we all learned how much we actually can accomplish remotely a few years ago when we absolutely had to.
Part of me misses the office. But mostly I like being home to do it all.
I can cook dinner at 2 pm instead of taking a lunch break or throw some wash in while I answer emails. So that’s great.
Plus I run up and down the stairs to Ivy all day long so who needs my treadmill anymore!!

Hi Staci, thank you so much for the insight! Another reason to switch from the reader to the Iphone! The reader just works in a very small range. I don't know if it is like that for everyone or just me. If she is on the terrace, I put the reader outside too but if she is changing places, it looses contact.

I still haven't changed to the IPhone. After I couldn't scan the sensor, the one time I tried, I researched again and found out that the IOs Version on the IPhone is not one tested by Abbott. I called the hotline and they said it might work but they don't guarantee. I think I will ask in this facebook groupe for the libre, if anyone is working with it. I am just scared that I change to the Iphone and then I get (even more) problems with the sensor. I feel so dependent on it! :nailbiting: So far I opted for the inconvenient but safe option. But on the long run I would really like to monitor her numbers when I have to go out and that the range is bigger is another plus for me. Your post really encouraged me to look further into that. Thank you so much! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
