I’m so anxious for the +2 today because I think I gave a fur shot She is not a fan of getting injections in the side of the chest and snatched away. Last night she even hissed at me when giving the injection, which is very unlike my gentle, sweet kitty.
I assume it stings more in the less fatty areas.

Anyways, it’s Austin’s day to step in so I’ll be trying not to micromanage and try to do something for myself.

I hope it wasn't a fur shot and that she slides down gently for you.
Nestle was always a very good boy at testing and I always gave him insulin while he was eating so he was distracted but just before we entered the last remission he became a lil annoyed at times with the tests. I think they just get into their moods as well, just like people. Hopefully that's just temporary and Khloe stays her usual sweet self.

Thanks Karolina! Unfortunately I think it was a fur shot but it is what it is. Thankfully Khloe doesn’t mind the ear pokes at all but she’s been side eyeing me for awhile now with the insulin injections, even when distracted with food. But I get it, I’d get annoyed too if someone tried to stick a needle in me everytime I ate!

I just gave a fur shot the other night, they can really put a damper on the mood can’t they? Just take it as an even greater opportunity to do something for yourself, knowing you won’t have to worry so much about her numbers this cycle. You deserve it!!

We've all given them, and FSs are annoying! Jude is one of those cats that reacts to the acidity in the insulin--it seemingly stings going in. It's sometimes more intense than others--I think that the scruff is not as stingy as the flank, but I sometimes worry that the scruff doesn't allow for really good absorption (that's a completely made-up notion on my part). I hope you were able to find some enjoyment in not focusing on bg numbers today! She'll come back down.

I totally agree with you, the scuff doesn't seem to bother her at all but I also worry about absorption. I'm running out of places she'll allow me to rotate

I think you're right that at least some got in, maybe even most of it. Her fur was wet this morning so I know she def didn't get a full dose. Hopefully tonight's shot is better with no snatching away!
