AMPS 252, 8th cycle @f0.75u, 2/3 PP, 1/8 zantac, 1mg Ondansetron, 1/16t miralax, 0.65oz 10%, 0.9oz 11%
+1 0.8oz 11%, 7 drops kidney liquid

Zener is a little unsettled this morning. First, he peed on the rug in the bathroom. Right in front of me. I think he's telling me that he wants to do yard patrol first, then test, feed, shoot. Ok, Z, we can do that. His appy isn't great. He's been eating FF chicken florentine for about 2 weeks solid so I opened the Proplan chicken and he ate some of that. I am amazed that he has been eating the FF so well and without any cypro as appy stimulant so he is due for a change. Just now he stretched and seemed to relax a bit. I think he gets stomach/gut cramps and that's why he gets a little off. I had to chase Tillie out of my office as she was chewing on papers. That little rascal.

In LL news, there are now 3 OTJ trials in progress: Karre, Tucker and ORANGE! All are going well. Dyana gave a report on the LL reunion in Pittsburgh. Surprisingly, the main topic of conversation was CATS! Hershey is enjoying the mountains with a nice blue this morning. Checks got down to 30  but is now safely paddling in the lagoon. Rupert is back on his trampoline. Stop that. Trixie is getting a bit more juice tonight to bring her down a floor or two. Maggie is running a little high, maybe because of the Lactulose? Rose seems to have gotten off of her trampoline. Yay! Gracie swam in the lagoon most of yesterday. Leo is doing alright as he recovers from pancreatitis. Happy Monday LL!

Hey, Z-man! Peeing right in front of the Bean!??? Not cool! come on back down to those handsome blues that go so well w/ your sleek black fur!

Hi Liz, any chance of a UTI? That's usually a sign that there is some discomfort in peeing. Thanks for the morning update, it's been keeping me in the loop.

Re: 8/13 Zener AMPS 252;+2 271

Hi guys .. sorry about the rug accident this morning .. but hopefully you're right, he just wants to do things in a different order and a vetty visit is not required .. Thanks for the LL updates, it's very helpful! Have a great day guys!

@Ann & Tess - we were wondering about a UTI too. He doesn't seem to have pain with urination, just peeing in an unusual spot, and appy off a bit. Last night I got a pee from him in the LB and he was negative for ketones and glucose.

@Devon - we have paws crossed it's nothing, thanks!

The big guy seemed pretty punk and acting like he hurt somewhere, though we can't find anything unusual. Tummy a little tight but no pain with palpating his abdomen and massaging. His appy has been off too, working hard to get his fuds in. So, I called our vet clinic to see if our regular vet was on today. She is off, so we got an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Shortly after the phone call, I tested and his numbers were coming down and he ate better. I wonder if a call to the vet works like a threatened dosecrease? ;-)

Re: 8/13 Zener AMPS 252;+2 271;+3.5 195

Hi Liz, sorry about the rug accident with Zener and hope it is not a UTI. I think Zener may have heard you on the phone making arrangements for a Vetty visit, and now has done a little turnaround. I hope that is the case. He is coming down nicely with the +3.5, too! We're sending Zener some feel better and appy vines. Great newsletter/updates again on the kitties and OTJ Trials. :-D Have a nice day.

My kitties always loved FF & Moonie still eats it to this day..
Sending Hugs & Love from us! Hope we see some Zener green tonite!!

Oh no Zener :o peeing in front of your bean is not cool! I hope nothing is wrong with the big guy, and his appy stays good. 2 weeks of just one food? I can barely get Leo to eat just 1 whole can, i'm always switching it up for the prince.

Very nice slide today Zener, and feel better soon.

Re: 8/13 Zener AMPS 252;+2 271;+3.5 195;+6 138;+7.5 143

I've discovered that it's not a good idea to leave bath mats on the floor if Neko is high at all. Must be something about them that is tempting. My little darling has also done it in front of me. So, maybe Zener is just telling you he isn't used to those yellows anymore and want to be blue and green again. I see he is sliding nicely down again.

Paws crossed for good appy this evening.

Re: 8/13 Zener AMPS 252;+2 271;+3.5 195;+6 138;+7.5 143

Tucker loves to pee on bathmats and toilet rugs, and washer/dryer rugs, and the welcome mat....and the whole livingroom rug!
Until now.... I've had great success with that new litter "cat allure" . I also spray that natural citrus deodorizer to repel him. It's been working now for about 5 days.

Re: 8/13 Zener AMPS 252;+2 271;+3.5 195;+6 138;+7.5 143

Hmmm, Zener had something to say, and didn't quite know how to word it.
It worked, didn't it? He made his point.....yard patrol first!

I enjoy the updates too, Liz, thanks :-D

@Ann & Maggie - We hope it's not a UTI too. Still, we made an appointment with our regular vet tomorrow afternoon, just to check things out. His appy improved and is better tonight. nailbite_smile

@Roni - and sliding into PMPS. We hope the rug incident was just him expressing his opinion about getting outside right away. And paws crossed it was just a punk day and nothing more. :?

@Tracy - thanks for the good appy wishes! Zener is a guy of habits and he ate the same dry kibble for years. We have three different wet foods that he will eat, and no others. So, eating the same is typical for him. We wish he would eat others, especially lower carb, but we are grateful he will eat wet food at all! :-D

@Wendy - interesting about the bath mats, we laughed when we read your post. We needed it too!

@Chris & Tucker - wow, another kitty who likes to pee on rugs of any sort! When Zener was first diagnosed, he stopped using his litter box completely. We finally got the right amount in the house and also used washable puppy piddle pads, but it wasn't until we used Cat Attact litter for a period of time that he got back in to the litter box. He still uses a piddle pad at night, but is much better with the LB. We never had much luck with the sprays for repelling or attracting.

@Barb - thanks for stopping by! We hope it was just a statement.

Zener had a kind of punk day, low energy and just generally not feeling all that great. He seems to be feeling a bit better tonight. We did see him urinate in the back yard twice about 30 minutes apart, though he doesn't seem to be in any pain when he does it, nor struggling to pee. And this was after he stayed inside most of the day without peeing. So, who knows what's up? And, it may be nothing other than a punk FD day. We have an appointment with his regular vet tomorrow and will ask her to check about a possible UTI or bladder infection. It's been a couple of months since bloodwork, so we may ask her to check that too. The big guy is outside sitting on his special bench surveying his domain.

Re: 8/13 Zener PMPS 125

I'm glad to see that Zener is feeling a little better this evening...hopefully it was just "one of those days", but whenever stray pee is involved, a trip to the vetty is (unfortunately) a good idea. Years ago, when I belonged to another pet-oriented discussion group, I remember some of the folks who rescued/fostered kitties (and therefore had lots of them passing through their homes) noted that - for whatever reason - kitties do tend to like peeing on rubber-backed bath mats.

Good vetty vines/keep feeling better vines coming your way!

Re: 8/13 Zener PMPS 125

Blame it on Olympics withdrawal!!!!  Shasta and I have been very lost tonight...what to watch, what to do?

Where there used to be the Olympics, now we are watching Golden Girls...Olympic withdrawal!
Shasta's enormous dive tonight...Olympics withdrawal!
Zener peeing on bathroom floor...totally Olympic withdrawal! Especially when you factor in his not feeling well. Could it be a hang over? He probably caught the closing ceremonies on the internet while you were asleep! They did have the Spice Girls reunion on the closing ceremony!!! :-D :-D

Hope he's still doing well tonight! Lovely blue PMPS! Keep up the good work!

Re: 8/13 Zener PMPS 125

Hi Anne and Liz - ope Zener is feeling better, sounds like he is. Maybe just an off day. Good though I think to do the vetty visit anyways. YAY on the better appetite! Z, you gotta eat our fuds!

Sorry for the rug incident... Mannie has had few of those some time ago. It usually was his way of telling me that he didn't like the condition of the LB. Back then we had five cats, and it didn't take much to put things on max.  Hope all is well with Zener, no UTI... paws crossed!

have a great night tonight. Z-man looks good. Love that pmps. Surf well Zener!
