Well, glad her pink from last pm is gone. I did take the skinny out and shot a straight 2.0. No pukus from all her greens last pm so was glad for that. Halo chicken snack and a smidge of whipped for her snack after shot this am. I've got all the cats, including one feral trained to recognize the whipped cream container - so funny. See, I'll keep them all on dry, feed them sugar and end up back here with more diabetes. It's my plan.....
The one feral that I have left, unneutered, is a male that has been coming here for about 6 yrs or so. He never would go into the trap. I got all the girls so we haven't had any babies in 3 yrs but he's still out there. And he is losing weight. He is getting skinny now, despite all the food. I will sometimes get a drontal in him for worms - haven't done so in probably 4 months (need to get more) but I am thinking that it is more than that. Maybe when Tuscany is gone I'll try trapping again and see if I can get him to the vets.......
Tuscany story:
You may recall that in past years Tuscany has gone sailing with us. She is usually in a harness and on a leash. There was one time when we were in a harbor, docked. She sometimes would like to try to sneak off the boat. I would short leash her so she couldn't leave the cockpit. (here we are again - it is probably a bad bean story not a cat story). I went down below to finish dishes - it was dark out. All of a sudden I hear from the boat next to us - HEY - your cat is in the water!! Sure enough, she tried to sneak off the boat - the dock wasn't where she thought it was - the leash was longer than I thought it was - and there is tuscany dangling from her harness - feet barely touching the water! We hauled her back aboard - she was a pissed cat. Interesting it took her a long time before she approached the side of the boat again! (apologies if I already told this story). Tuscany has had issues with knowing her boundries and with testing out the harness, leash. Several times in the old house when she was outside she would decide to jump down the retaining wall - and wouldn't have enough leash. I'd come over and find her swinging. You'd think one of us would learn
In the new house - on our 5 acres which is at the end of a private cul de sac - she was given a little more freedom - when we were outside. Usually it was freedom to drag a leash where ever she went (i figured it would eventually catch on something). As she got older - she got off the leash time when we were out with her. Sometimes I would get distracted in my project and lose sight of her. I found her a few times at neighbors houses - looking in their windows. I felt almost criminal going over to get her -like I was spying. Mostly though if I temporarily lost her - I'd go and get the glass or metal cat dishes and go around the yard banging them (or flipping the top of a can of food) til she came running. She always has liked her fuds!
