Dental Day! 😁 I gave Karamelle 1/2 dose this morning 0.25U. I didnt use the caliper since I will switch back to 0.5 tonight. She ran high all day yesterday and was still pink this morning, so there shouldnt be an issue with her dropping too low. I did ask them to test before, during and after the procedure. Lets see if they do that. They started about an hour ago (which was 2 hours after she had her shot and small meal), so I probably wont pick her up till later this afternoon. I fed her about 17G of wet this morning after her shot. Her last dry food meal was at 2am. I went in to pick it up and she was eating right at that moment, thats how I know. So it was 8 1/2 hours of no dry. That should be long enough.

Wish her lots of luck πŸ€žπŸ€

I called just now to see how she was doing. I thought they had started the dental at 10:30am but come to find out they hadnt even started it yet and its already 2:45pm!!! I asked if they checked her BG and they did get a couple readings. One from this morning (she didnt know what time) at 395! and one later (she didnt know the time for that one either) at 275. Its dropped over 100 points. I guess they might be starting her dental now. Im not positive tho. But I told her they have to keep an eye on her BG because its been wacky lately and without any food, its bound to be dropping at some point. Im pretty upset they let her go this long. I wont be able to pick her up till 6 or 7pm!! Unless they feed her, that will be 17 hours without any food, except for that 17Grams she got after her shot this morning.
Ok while I was writing this they called and said her BG is now 351. They use a pet meter, so it will be slightly different than mine.
I asked if she would call me when they are done and shes alert if I can bring her some food. Im litterally only a block away.

So frustrating!!! Fingers crossed she stays safe and that the procedure is done ASAP.

Yes, I hope so! Shes on a lot of pain meds, so she wont be feeling anything for a few days, haha.
Poor girl. I can’t believe they let her go without her being totally out of anesthesia but I’m sure you are glad to have her home and she’s glad to be there.

Five teeth….thats a lot. Did they give her buprenorphine?

I’m so glad she’s home, vines for a speedy recovery πŸƒπŸƒβ€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή give her a squeeze from me. I’m sure she’s going to feel so much better once she’s back to herself again and those bad teeth aren’t bothering her anymore!

She's already taking Buprenorphine although I skipped it this morning because I wasn't sure how it would mix with the anesthesia. She usually takes it once a day but they want me to give it twice for 7 days, along with 50mg Gabapentin twice a day as well.
