Morning LL,

WCR Although Sara's #'s have been good, she has'nt been feeling well these last few days. I started her AB the other day for her UTI but shes been getting sick everyday, so I don't know how much is getting into her system. It's a 1/2 a pill once a day. I am now going to give her 1/4 BID. I don't think its the Baytril thats making her sick because she started this just before she started taking the AB. I am holding off on giving her any of the Felimazole for her thyroid to see if that helps. It was'nt that long ago that her vet uped that to BID, and maybe it does'nt agree with her.

Got to go to tbp.

Have a nice day.

Jan Im wondering if her abs is clavamox. This makes both my cats sick, even given with food. I had to get a different abs and that one worked fine.

Poor Sara.....I hope she is feeling better soon. I was wondering the same thing as Janice....is she on Clavamox. Putty only took it for one day and I had to stop because it made his so sick.

Yes you must always give food before giving meds, just like peeps, it can upset the stomach..Maybe you need to change the ab's--See what happens after today, then perhaps call vet..
Great number today!! Whoo Hooo! Have a great day!

Sorry that Sara is not feeling well. Ar you giving the pill with foods? I think that helps. Raja has been taking Clavamox for 8 days now and so far, antijinx and know-on-wood..it has stayed down.
Wonder if it is the ABs...she has never been on that particualr kind before, right? I hope that by splitting the 1/2 pill into 2 parts will help if you give it BID~~good thinking! . Good luck with that...so sorry that this is not working out too well. Keep us posted...

Janice and Mirium, It's Baytril this time. She was on Clavamox before but it came back, or she was'nt on it long enough. She was never sick on the Clavamox.

Pat, She was'nt getting a full meal. I'll make sure I don't give it to her unless she eats. Maybe its the Baytril thats making her sick but I could have sworn that she had gotten sick for a couple of days before I even gave it to her. I'll just have to give her food and see if that does the trick.

Thanks for your well wishes. Hope all your kitties are doing well also.

baytril can make some cats sick so if she keeps being sick each day it may be the AB causing it most of my cats tolerate it well but I have had some who have not. Hope she feels better soon

I hope she keeps it down if you split it and give it BID. How is the towel lately? any change? If she is throwing it up (if the ABs is making her sick) then she hasn't gotten much into her system at this point, huh? I do hope it works by splitting the dose. Poor little Sara...how is she when you pill her?
Not an easy task for most of us!

Re: 8/12 Sara PM+2~83

Thanks Janice and Pat!

Actually when she does get sick, from what I noticed its a few hours after shes had the pill. Its liquid not solid and its not always that much. But today for for instance she got sick twice. Once around 10a and than after I got home at 4p. So even though I think shes keeping it down it must be making her feel nauseous.

To make matters worse shes now not eating it in the treat form that I was having such good luck with. So I waited till she ate tonight than I had to pill her. Your right Pat it isn't easy. Thats why I was lovin her eating it up in a treat. Now that I made sure she had enough food in her stomach, I'll see if she will tolerate it. If all goes well than I guess I'll have to pill her for a few more weeks. I'll have to do it BID or twice in one pilling since I had already cut the remaining 1/2 pills into 1/4's. :o

Oh and BTW Pat I think that the towel is a little better. Plus I have seen her use the LB that I have in the sewwing room for her to use. So if its already working that will give me some incentive to pill her. :-D

I'm not having a good time with this. :-|

I'm sorry Jan. It's such a headache when they need meds. I don't have a problem pilling Gabby but, she really likes the allergy formula Pill Pockets. They don't have corn syrup in them so they are better than the original type.
