Rupert super BEBT this morning and hungry. So the big fat red was a bit of a surprise... now I"m wondering if it wasn't just a bad test strip or something??? seriously?? 154 in 2.5 hours??? I can only assume this dive will be followed by a similar bounce... again. grrr. just when I thought we were off this coaster. Still, it seems the f2.0 dose is having *some* effect. will see how he does with it for the next few days. Yesterday was a classic curve in fairly usual Rupert fashion, the dive at +6 probably generated the big red this morning but I guess I should be happy he's clearing it.. just wish it wasn't so darned fast, seems like he's gathering up bounce momentum again just when I thought he'd worn the springs out on that trampoline. sigh. oh well.

hope everyone is having a nice Sunday.

Re: 8/12 Rupert AMPS 421, +2.5 154 (good grief)

it looks like his bounce is clearing out at the same time insulin onset is starting. He is fond of big drops when he clears his bounces, isn't he? I would feed him a bit of LC to see if that helps Rupert get onto his surfboard.

Re: 8/12 Rupert AMPS 421, +2.5 154 +4.5 43 SWOOSH!

so, if I had doubts that the f2.0 wasn't enough I guess Rupert showed me?! I had to go and ride Harvey and do some work with him before it got too hot to ride and by the time I get back up to the house... good grief. such a swan dive.....he's having a nice snack right now. Seems most most smug with himself and has been sleeping in the nice 'dent' in the lawn under the apple trees all morning, hanging out with Oliver. it's a tremendously stressful and tough life he leads. sigh!

oh and now... do I figure a dose reduction.. ? knowing he tends to not hold them well? I'm guessing another shave to a regular 2.0 for this evening??

almost black PMPS. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ohmygod_smile still, I know where it came from.

took the reduction to a plain 2.0 tonight, hopefully he'll clear the bounce and settle into that dose quickly. wish I could figure him out.

Congrats on the reduction!!

Ugh, those bounces *are* frustrating. I'm sorry Rupie loves his trampoline so much. Libby underlined something I found very interesting - that Rupert sort has a double-whammy thing going on: onset + swift bounce-clearing. Sheesh. As if it wasn't complicated enough!

Your animal family is beautiful!! I love the dressage pictures. I used to ride dressage too, years ago, first on an English thoroughbred and then on an amazingly gifted Arab. I miss it so much.

Happy Monday!
Jane
