Lanky's Last Condo

Hello Everyone - I have not posted in a while do to:
  • being pooped,
    addressing household issues after Dad was left home alone with 3 kitties for over 10 days while Lanky, my sister & I drove to Fort Collins CO for Acro treatment;
    regrouping after spending 12 days in close proximity with my older, eccentric sister (I do love her dearly though);
    and, experiencing a general physical, mental, & emotional culmination of the events over the last 5 months since the diabetes dx.

So, thanks to Sienne for asking about us and helping to get me off my duff and post some information. The CSU experience was fabulous - people, vet hospital, country side, accommodations, everything! Lanky was a trooper handling the 2-day road-trip out without a hiccup, being the best patient ever & winning over the hearts of the docs too, and then breezing thru the trip home.

I am trying to post a link to the pics on Picasa, let's see if this works. It has only taken me most of the afternoon!

So, the expectation is that within 2 to 3 months, Lanky's insulin requirement will diminish significantly and the ACRO growth affects will stop and perhaps diminish too. CSU has financial assistance opportunities for the Vet hospital that I am going to follow-up on and share. It seems to me we should be able to figure out a way to help all of the ACRO kitties get this treatment. With the board network, I bet we can. We need a Ronald McDonald type of of place in Fort Collins & perhaps help with gas or other travel too. The treatment is the same for Cushing Disease.

Hope all of the kitties are doing well.

The link to your photos works!

Welcome home. It sounds like everyone at your home missed you. We missed you here, as well. I'm glad Lanky did well on the trip and the treatment.

What a great report! And the pictures are great! I hope you will rest up and relax after your big trip! So proud of Lanky...sounds as if he did very well. So glad that is over for you both! Great job Susan!
We all missed you around here... Welcome home! :YMHUG:

thank you SO MUCH for posting the pictures. Everything is amazing. In every picture Lanky looks like he is smiling. I can't believe how comfortable he looks in the car. :-D

I agree that it would be great if all acros could have this treatment. Maybe someday.

I love the pictures you put on FB and I'm so glad the treatment went well. I hope Lanky will respond as quickly as Boo, but if not, Milo is an inspiration to all of us acros.

I love the one where he's sacked out on the picnic table.

Welcome home, and thanks for the update. I'm so glad it went well.
