A nice night of yellow and blue but a red beginning. What is MC food? I have HC (18% or more) and LC (I use 4% or less for Harley). I do not have MC food nor have I ever heard the %. I believe Sandy suggested a 5-6% but that is not much higher than what I have.

I think last night after +7/170, Harley again fell too low. I have the auto feeder with food but it is LC and maybe needs the MC food to keep him steady.

Guess I'll see what today brings.

I really don't know officially what is considered MC. If I wasn't using LC of 2-4 %, I used HC of 18%. Occasionally I would mix up 1/2 LC and 1/2HC and call it MC. I don't know what % of carbs that would be (never did the math) I just figured it would be somewhere in between. Hopefully other will chime in.

When I suggested 5-6% for Harley, I meant for you to try raising his LC food to 5-6% and see if that helps slow down/soften the early drops, or maybe everything overall. Might be worth trying it for a while to see.

I think you're on the right track there. You could try a half LC half HC mix, or maybe try something that's 10% or so to put in the feeder for overnight.

Your challenge for now is to keep him from going too low; I think if you can manage that it will soften any highs.

I am amazed at how much Harley is changing... hitting 548 with .01u R on 07/29 worked like a charm. Hitting a 555 with .01u R on 08/10 (12 days later) turned out to be too much. When thinking about dose during a period of rapid change and reductions, as a rule of thumb I only consider the previous 2 weeks on the ss. Looks like (right now) for Harley that range may be too wide.
 
Thank you. Harley is feeling better today. Right now, he is out stalking a shrew so I have to go and make sure he doesn't bring in a guest.

Hi guys .. ouch on this mornings amps, but I know harley could bring it down if he wanted too .. we used wal marts brand special kitty savory beef and liver dinner for our MC .. and just pure gravy for mochas HC .. not sure of the % though .. have a great weekend!
