Okay hopefully Alex's blood work shed some light on why his numbers have been up as well as the fact that he still has some bladder stuff going on (which he always will on and off because he has a tiny kidney stone and it's just too big a surgery to have it removed).

Alex's blood did show a significant rise in his thyroid (went from 3.0 which is in normal range to 5.9 in one month). This could be throwing his numbers off. I don't know if he'll ever be flat but maybe when the increase in his Tapezole takes effect, that will start to help his preshot numbers and lower his all around curve. And he's on Clavamox for another week....so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Alex has a great appetite but I think he may be a little uncomfortable because he's 'blah' (as in bladder) today, so he got a little bupe in case. But Jackson is 'blah' too so It may be that it's dark and dreary and rainy. I have a feeling that when I open the refrigerator door to clean the fridge (yuchhh something I LOVE to do) :-| I will have a little helper named Alex with me cause he just really likes the refrigerator and he's headed this way right now :-D

Have a nice day everyone

Re: 8/12 Alex AMPS HI

I hope Alex is able to find much lower numbers today; it sounds like you have a good handle on his medical needs. Will the kidney stone ever pass? Poor thing!

Have fun cleaning your fridge..at least you will have help!

Hi Carrie,

No, it won't ever pass. It would have to be removed surgically. (His brother has one also). That surgery, actually any surgery but especially that which is major, is much too dangerous for Alex. Alex has hyper-t and HCM as well as diabetes. I work very hard at keeping everything under control which basically controls me...but Alex is very worth it ♥

Thanks for asking

Re: 8/12 Alex AMPS HI

Oooh, I loooooove cleaning the fridge! NOT! I think that ranks even lower than cleaning the toilet in my list of "fun" things to do. Max is always my helper tho--he loves him some fridge time! I wasn't able to find it in time for his OTJ video, but I have a great shot of him curled up in the back corner of my fridge in my old apartment. I think I took it when I was getting ready to move and was, yep, you guessed it, cleaning the fridge. :-D

Anyway, I hope the new med doses help clear things up for Alex, and tell him that a fellow fridge lover is hoping he feels better soon!

Re: 8/12 Alex AMPS HI

Hope Alex can bring that number down..and that he feels better after cleaning the fridge with you.
And for the record, thanks for saying that you were doing that today. Darn it! Mine needs that too...I wish you hadn't said that Caryl. Now I feel all guilty...maybe I should do that too... Such a big production....well good luck and enjoy it! I'll just put it on my list... :-|

We had a great time..Alex and Jackson both supervised. I found things in there that we can't even discuss
But I did get a nice new pic of Master Alex watching me clean (see avatar)..doesn't he look handsome?
Clean your fridges everyone...you'll be happy afterward!

Every time I turned around, Alex's head was in there. i don't know if he wanted the Liv-a-Littles or the beer (man, I didn't realize I had so much beer) I'm telling you, it was scary in there!!!!

I'm glad you found a reason for the increased BGs. I'm not glad that the reason was an elevated T4, but at least it's a reason and it's one you can take care of. I hope you have a good evening!

With all of the problems Alex has, that is just about the easiest one to figure out at this point Libby. At least we're right on op of his blood work monitoring everything else as well
