Good weekend morning!

You'll never believe this...Shasta didn't want to eat her breakfast this morning. :shock:
I went back to bed and got up in time for her +2.5. I decided to cave and add a tsp. of her 13%. grr_red

Woohoo, Shasta, quite a drop there! A bit slower gets you there too, you know!

Does she show any interest in the food? Eat yer fuds, Shasta. Happy Caturday! That first week is always hard.

She shows interest in food...just not the "healthy" stuff I have down for her (Fancy Feast classics). She's had some of the Wellness Chicken & Herring. The first time I gave it to her (3 oz. can) she loved it! The next time I gave it to her (5.5 oz can) she refused to eat it. She's never been fond of the pate foods, prefers chunks or slivers. Really, she loves the gravies and such...the "bad for you" kinds of food!

I know she's hungry. It's not like the food has gone bad, I just opened it yesterday morning and it's been in the refrigerator. I've tried warming it up, adding Parm - she ate a little, sprinking Fortiflora, sprinking Pure Bites Turkey treats on it - she eats a little (I don't do all of these at once or on the same meal - yuk!); final attempt: I add the Friskies...she eats pretty well - she eats the friskies and some of the FF. Guaranteed, if I put down the Friskies ONLY, it would be gone in a heart beat! :YMSIGH:

Can you try mixing the two, maybe half and half or whatever proportion she will eat, then gradually reducing the friskies and increasing the FF or Wellness? Other people have remarked that their cats won't eat either large or small cans of Wellness or ones from Canada or ones from the US. Seems the consistency and/or flavor was different.

Yeah, the Wellness was weird. She practically ate out of the can w/ the 3 oz. can and refused to come near the 5.5 oz. So strange!

Basically, I'm already mixing the FF and the Friskies. I'm just worried that Miss Smarty Pants will figure me out and won't let me decrease the amount of Friskies!!!! She's learned a few things in her time and doesn't like to be messed with in her "old age"! :lol:

Today has been about holding the food bowl in front of her face and following her around the living room trying to get her to eat. She eventually will eat...and eat a good portion...I just hate that she won't eat more with her bowl in the regular feeding place. She is training me to be her slave. She's probably faking the sickness, too! :lol:

She just ate more at +3 (after I mixed in a little bit of her left over breakfast). :YMSIGH:

Clearly, our kitties want to be sure we remember who's in charge! :lol: I hope you get the food situation figured out soon. I remember reading...don't remember who's condo...that they found differences in the small cans of Wellness compared to the larger cans. Their kitty would eat the smaller, but not the larger...one made in US and one in Canada. I want to say it was Marje, but don't depend too heavily on my maturing brain cells...I only buy the larger cans, so Hershey wouldn't know the difference.

Thank you, Libby! I was thinking I was going a little crazy when Shasta wouldn't eat from the larger Wellness can. At least she's not the only one! I just wish she weren't so picky! :-|

As for who's in charge, I don't think I'll EVER forget that! She has me wrapped around her little, feisty paw! :-D Hope you and your family are having a lovely little vacation. Safe travels!
