Holy moly! Pumbaa has never stayed green this long!

I regret to say that, due to my total lack of sleep last night, and due to tight deadlines today and tomorrow, I did give him a BCS of 1.50U this morning. I just don't want to crash tonight if he continues with these low numbers. He probably could have dropped below 50 last night had I not been feeding him low-carb food and treats all night. But he was burning all the calories off zooming around the house like a total nutty boy!

Maybe 2.50U is going to be his breakthrough dose? Fingers crossed! And I am so praying that we don't see an ugly red or black bounce after this string of greens.

SuZzzzzzzze <-my new name until I can sleep more than an hour or two at a time *LOL*

Re: 10/11 Pumbaa - Green for over 12 hours now!!!!

Yippeeee!!!!! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT :RAHCAT

Don't get worried if he bounces. Max did that a few times, and he eventually stopped for good very soon after I found the breakthrough dose. Pumbaa will, too!

Dale: shhhh...don't tell anyone but I'm almost praying that he bounces tonight so I can sleep. *LOL*

Thank you for the cheers! I'm so happy to see him with lower numbers...even when it means chasing him around the living room and house for 15 minutes before I can catch him and test him. :)

Re: 10/11 Pumbaa - Green for over 15 hours now!!!!

Looking very nice Pumbaa! And nice to hear you're running around and feeling nutty!

Carl

ETA - Suze, it's still August although I'm ready for October! ;-)

Carl, I hope you don't mean my ETA for getting some sleep isn't until October! Yikes! But I, too, am ready for summer to be over.

I'm sure you were making a bold prediction Pumbaa would be OTJ by 10/11?

At this rate it's looking more like 9/11/12 if not sooner?

Geesh! I finally got the October reference! ohmygod_smile

That's what happens due to lack of sleep!

I'll go fix the date now. Hahahahahaha! What a maroon!

It just stuck out like a sore thumb on top of all the other threads that started with "8/__".

I'm hoping that by 10/11, an all green day would be just another day for Pumbaa (anti-jinx).

Carl

I know a lot of people think that long runs of greens like this are nothing to get excited about, but this is Pumbaa! And this is a breakthrough for him!

I'm so sleep deprived right now I'm acting like I've been on Prednisone for a week...i.e. I'm laughing and crying at the same time! When I finished doing chores at my Mom's tonight, I started telling her how wonderful it is that Pumbaa is reacting to the insulin this way, and how he might have reached his breakthrough dose, and I just started bawling my eyes out! While telling her good news! I just got off the phone with my mom, and told her how Pumbaa bounced up to 341 for his PMPS, but started bawling again, because I'm just so happy that he spent all of this time surfing in green, after all that we've been through so far! Even though I was hoping that his bouncing days were over.

So, I want to thank everyone who is sharing my joy at these wonderful numbers from Pumbaa, and for all of the support and encouragement I have received in the last 4 months. I am so much more optimistic tonight, you have no clue!

(((HUGS)) to you all!

Did you notice it is exactly 4 months?

Pumbaa probably did, being the superstitious feline that he is. His way of celebrating his 4 month Lanntiversary?

I think it's BIG news, but you still may need to promptly hit a fat 2.50 if he stalls out before he earns the reduction. @-)

Chippendale's:

As you and Carl so kindly tried to subtly point out to me, I, obviously, don't even know what month it is! *LMAO*

Thank you! I didn't correlate the 4 month anniversary, even though tonight at my mom's I told her that the first insulin injection Pumbaa received was on 4-11-12.

Wow! 4 months today. Extra Stella & Chewy's freeze dried raw for Pumbaa treats tonight! And extra pain-relief Neosporin on his ears when I test him! ;)

Pumbaa already gave me his present, in that 17+ hour surfing in greens! I pray that it's a gift that will keep on giving.

Now, you "shall" go to bed and sleep the sleep of the dead! Sweet dreams!

Stella & Chewy's for everyone. Even Beck?

I burned though so much neosporin lately I had to go buy more.

I got the equate Walmart knock-off, almost twice the tube for a portion of the price.

Still haven't even had the energy to rustle up some grub, and need to stay awake and do a +3, then nap until the +6.

I simply can't trust Pumbaa not to dive. Not yet, anyway.

Thank you for the great wishes, though!

Yes! Even Beck! She loves them!

When I've had to put a trail of Stella & Chewy's leading out from under my bed to get Pumbaa out of there, Beck has eaten some of the treats! And now she expects to get some every time I give them to the cats. Stella & Chewy's are life savers for me. Kaching...kaching. They are not cheap. But I haven't done a price comparison to the high carb treats I used to feed my cats.

What love about the Relion Prime is that the carrying case has a great spot for the device, and a perfect spot for the round test strip case, and a perfect mesh slot for the Neosporin. I don't even have to take the test strip vial or the Neosporin tube out of the case when I go to test Pumbaa. It's lacking a good space for the lancets and the cotton squares, but I have been lining these up on top of my microwave so they are easy to grab for testing time.
