8/11 Kit AMPS 132, +1 177, +2.5 155, +4 195, +7 244, PMPS 274, +2 176

She is confusing me so much lately. Like why is she now up to 195? It's like the way the insulin was working on her has changed. She's also been way more hungry the last week or so - previously she'd have days where she'd eat maybe a can of food a day (I give her one can AM and one can PM, but she would rarely eat it all). And now she eats both cans and just acts like she's still starved. I think I might try to move her dental that I was going to do in October and try to get it done before classes start at the end of the month. We have a vet visit on Monday so she can get her Solensia shot, so I'll float that with her vet then. It's just so frustrating.

Okay, I know the shot went in this morning. There's about 25 units left in the pen I'm currently using, and I think I'm going to switch to the new pen tonight. I know it's supposed to last longer than the 9 weeks I've been using it, but I honestly can't think of what else is causing it to have no effect all of a sudden.

So, because I switched to the new pen tonight, I went back to 1 unit just in case 1.25 would be too much on fresh insulin. Based on giving 1.25 this morning, and her only going up, and giving 1 tonight, and her dropping 1 points by +2, the insulin losing efficacy seems like a safe guess?

I would not assume that the insulin lost efficacy. Every time I have thought that and changed the pen, I've found it's not the insulin, but the dose having gone stale and Bandit needing more insulin. I would stay with 1.25U. Maybe the dive from 143 to 69 on 8/8 triggered a bounce that took longer to clear (especially if the dose was not a good one). Today's AM was the 6th cycle from that cycle and some cats go high before they break a bounce. Maybe that's what she was doing today.
