Hello everyone!
I tried a new injection site location last night and looks like she stayed fairly flat all night with a gentle rise so I’m thinking absorption is playing a big part in Khloe’s cycles. That or feeding at +2 is too close to the nadir. Another experiment awaits me.

I’ve been trying to learn more about loss of duration with Lantus. I found a few posts from a few years back but I’m curious if anyone can point me in the direction to learn more about it? Or even a members SS with a cat that lost duration often? I did find that very few cats required R with Lantus but that is a terrifying thought so not as interested to learn about that yet.

Khloe’s 6 month DX anniversary is next week so the tiny bit of hope I had for remission is fading. But in the same breath, I’m so happy with how much she’s progressed and feeling good again. She’s even lost weight and not looking like a sourdough loaf anymore lol

Hope everyone has a good day! ☺️

LOL I'm going to tell Miss Khloe that you called her a sourdough loaf! Even if remission isn't fully in the cards for Khloe (and I'm not convinced it's not given how well she's held reductions and spends so much time in the greens :)) - you should be really proud of how much progress you've made together. Khloe is such a beautiful, happy, healthy girl :)

I'm also happy to hear that the new injection site might have helped her with a more gentle curve down. What was the site if you don't mind me asking? Moonie's skin is weirdly tight so we're limited in our options but I always like to try out new spots if I can.

I've been puzzling over absorption rates and loss of duration too Sara. Mister seems to nadir fairly early unless he's breaking a bounce and I've also been considering how his +2 (and sometimes +3, the boy loves to eat) meals might be effecting his cycles, especially since I've introduced higher LC meals. I haven't got any answers yet and I'm glad you've raised the question, I'll be following along with you. I'm going to try the injection site you used on Khloe, I'm limited in where I can go since he's so feisty and I believe has some sensitive areas. So thankful you posted this today!

I wouldn't lose hope for remission, like Connie said the amount of progress she has seen has been really amazing. But at the end of the day you have a healthy happy baby who doesn't know she has diabetes and I believe that's the best we could ask for with this stupid disease.
