8/10 Tucker Day 10 OTJ +3 124,+4 102,+5 88

nailbite_smile nailbite_smile I checked Tucker this morning and got a +3 of 124, retested at +4 102. I got worried !
Then I found out my partner tried getting the morning BG, and Tucker was fighting and had to be stuck a few times. Also, he had a hissing match with Sophie! They actually had a knock down, drag out fight last night. He's been sneaking into Sophies room and eating up her canned food too. The last couple of days he's been eating up his food immediately.
Hopefully these numbers will come back down and stay down! nailbite_smile nailbite_smile

Just did a +5 and it's 88 :mrgreen:
??? With Tucker eating up everything, should I always have some food available to him to self regulate? I put about 1/2 can of FF out last night before bed, but it was licked clean when I got up this morning.
 
Thanks for the support in Karre's condo, Chris! I hear you about the getting worried about those pesky non-greens! No matter how spoiled we are with beautiful numbers, we keep wanting them to be even better! :mrgreen:

Congrats on Day 10 Chris!

It's good to feed several, small meals a day to any cat but especially a cat in remission. That way the pancreas doesn't get overworked. Have you considered a automatic timed feeder for Tucker so you can control the amount he eats at one time? I'm not sure how that would work with Sophie......but something to consider.

Gabby likes to polish off Gizmo's food. Gizmo would graze if he could. If he walks away from his bowl, Gabby eats. Gabby shoves him out of his bowl if Gizmo doesn't eat fast enough. I guess Gabby and Tucker are both rather food motivated!
 
Glad to see Tucker found his way back to the green zone! :mrgreen: We free feed so food is available anytime and that seems to be working OK. The biggest challenge was finding a food they could all eat. If Jasper gets very hungry, he eats too much too fast then throws it up so he is still hungry, gobbles more food down, more vomiting, not good for any of us. Our cats have learned there will be food when they want it and they dont eat it up all at once.
 
Glad you got to see green today. :mrgreen: It is difficult to figure out when to feed when you have more than one cat. I'd love to be able to get a timed feeder for Furball, but one of my other cats would most likely eat all of the food. Furball eats a little at a time and he pushes his way in to her plate if I don't watch him, even when he still has food on his plate.
 
I have the same kind of problem with Salem - if I don't stand over them, he'll leave his bowl half full and go take Leo's food. And forget about leaving food down or even a timed feeder - he'll gobble everything in sight before anyone else can get to it. When I was working I used to put down a can of frozen Fancy Feast, since it takes time to thaw and eventually he gets tired of licking it and gives the others a chance to get a little.
 
Tucker and Sophie used to eat next to each other in the kitchen, when they got the Gravy Sensation packet.
Sophie got the gravy. Tucker got the meat. The moment Sophie walked away, Tucker would walk over and empty her bowl if there was anything left over. He'd give it a good licking at least! Otherwise they free fed dry.

With the switch to wet canned, Sophie has lost about 2 pounds in 2 weeks. She was 20 pounds. I had to put her canned food in "her bedroom" for her to eat. I didn't want Sophie to loose too much weight too soon. She still needs convincing for her to eat sometimes. Also, I have to watch that Tucker doesn't sneak in and eat her food up.
I don't think the timed feeders will work for me. I think I need to find the right food to put down for overnight.
Maybe one of their lesser favorite flavors will last longer and be eaten in smaller portions.
