Good Friday Morning, Everyone,

We were woken up at about 3 A.M. by the loudest thunderclap I think I have ever heard. It sounded like a bomb. We literally jumped off the bed! And lightening was flashing all around, with non-stop thunder for about a half hour. Rusty was good through it all while we were running around closing windows. Then the storm moved off and we all went back to sleep.

Rusty's AMPS is a bit food-influenced. Most of his nighttime food was still in his dish when we had the big electrical storm, so he must have finished it shortly before AMPS. We'll see what kind of numbers we get today. The Lev. tends to leak out of the tip of the Terumo syringe if you are not careful to hold it so that the bevel is pointing up. The least little motion can release a small drop prematurely. We may have lost a little this morning.

This unsettled weather is supposed to continue through the weekend. It will be a good opportunity to catch up on chores and to practice with the new rowing machine.

Wishing you all a good day. TGIF!

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157

Food induced or not, that's still a wonderful AMPS for Mr. Rusty! Good boy!

I'm glad to hear that you got some rain, even it if was a bit loud! I hate those mornings, and yes, we've had those loud thunderclaps, too. They sound like they're right next to where you're sitting sometimes.

Hoping for a lower AMPS very soon for you both! You're both doing wonderfully! Thank you for stopping by our condo this morning. We both appreciate it. :YMHUG: :-D

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157

Oh that's not a very nice way to wake up, having the you-know-what scared out of you. Nice to hear of another kitty that isn't afraid of a little light and thunder show.

Nice AMPS this morning Russ, hopefully you head down into the green lagoon a little later today.

Hope you enjoy your day Ella and Rusty :-D

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157

Nice AMPS even if food influenced for Rusty. Maggie eats the same way overnight. I saw on the Weather Channel about your thunder and lightening. What a way to wake up, though! Enjoy your day and catching up on things.

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157

Oh wow on the T-Storm. I can so see you running around closing windows.... I hope your weather is better today. Sounds like rusty handled last night well.

Interesting on the syringes. I hope that is not a problem going forward. Good luck with them.

Enjoy your day today. Rusty good cycles to you! !

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157

G'Morning Ella. Your storm sounds more interesting than mine was.
We had wonderful rolling thunder and lightning, not too close. My cats couldn't care less about loud thunder too. Checks and Tux like to sit out on screenporch and get wet. Weirdos

It's pretty chilly here now, with rain threatening. Like you, I'd rather be outside.

Like Angela said, that's a darn good amps, even if food influenced! :-D
Have a wonderful day. :-D

Thank you for advice about calipers.
I left a photo for you in our condo,of my bathroom and Checkers steps, etc. Aren't you thrilled?

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157

I would have ahd to peel Shadow off the celing if that thunder had happened here. How he HATES thunder!!
He usually begins to act skittish way before I am even aware that a thunder storm is coming. He hears it in the distance and gets ready for its approach. Glad Rusty is okay with all that noise though....
Hoping ou both have a good day!
By the way, I am wondering about the Luge sleds....it would be such a kick to have two made by someone who make sthe U.S. Olympic teams' sleds! Do you think it would work if we got two sleds and then used pillows so we could see the tv? Of course, we wouldn't be watching tv during the heavy competitions, but just at home during our practice sessions!! We only lie on the couch and recliner now....but we are just starting out. We hope to get better at it with time and more practice! ;-)

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157, +5.5 114, +9 104, PMPS 169!

Hi again,
I don't know where this PMPS number came from! It might have been a short shot this morning, when I lost a little out of the tip of the needle again. I have yet to get the hang of the Terumos. And I certainly need to tweak the dose, but will wait until tomorrow to see how Rusty does this evening. I'm tempted to go back to the Monojects, but I am almost out of "good" Monojects and the recent lots are just too untrustworthy.

In any event, Rusty had a good play this evening and a good dinner and is napping in his basket. He hates this weather, and so do we: very humid (like a sauna), cool but warm at the same time, light rain that then turns into a downpour. Ugh! It's supposed to get better on Sunday.

We did workouts on the new rowing machine today and are very pleased with it.

Wishing everyone a good evening,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/10 Rusty AMPS 157, +5.5 114, +9 104, PMPS 169!

Ella

I'm so very sorry you are having problems with the Terumos. I'm sorry you've had problems with the lev leaking out of the tip....I haven't had that issue. I did have problems, initially, with bubbles but I got that figured out. And I always have to be very careful when I'm ready to give the injection that I don't touch the plunger until the needle is in her. Because one little touch, and you are right, the plunger moves.

I hope you get a chance to practice some more. I'd be hard pressed to go back to the MJs now....I really got to where I hated them and the company got to where they would not return my phone calls.  I bet you never hear from them.

Tomorrow I think I'll take Rusty up a "drop" (.11mm) to 2.23 on the calipers. I still don't think I am replicating his dose, which is supposed to be a skinny 1.5 units. The Terumos are indeed a challenge, Marje. A different kind of challenge from the MJs. Right now I feel as if I'm between a rock and a hard place!!

Everyone have a good evening.

Ella & Rusty

We are almost having the same kind of weather Ella. This morning, we had thunder & heavy rain in the early morning hour. The weather is a bit cooler but very humid. So unbearable without an aircon running.
Nice to know that Rusty has came down a little at +4, canbe the dosage issue of the syringe causing her unstable bg. Hope you can get it settled soon. I have been using the BD since day one as I dont have choice here. Now with the caliper, it's a bit easier.
