Poor appetite at breakfast time again. Between her eating and me force feeding, she got down a little less than 2 Tbsp Wellness and FF. But she ate a pretty good mini-meal at +9 - a little less than 1 Tbsp of Wellness and then a couple spoonfuls of cooked chicken. Between her congestion and an infection in one of her extractions, she's not grazing as much as usual (except for cooked chicken - that seems to elicit a response).

I am not feeling well - going btb and deciding whether work is an option.

Oh, and BTW.. Melted Ben and Jerry's isn't my favorite - that's why I bought a refrigerator yesterday. My freezer hasn't worked for months (although the refrigerator occasionally freezes things...).

feel better. have you thought about an appy stim for kasha or tried baby food or KFC to stimulate eating more. I am sure some of it is the infection and congestion or ty heating to stink it up a bit or parm cheese for stinky stuff

I have some cypro but I hate using it - she got really wacked out on even a tiny little bit of a pill and I just hate giving her extra meds. Her appetite is never good at mealtime, but I think because of her mouth infection, she's not grazing like she usually does. So, hopefully I just need to get her thru the short term till she feels better. She totally doesn't like when I heat up food. Right now, for some odd reason she prefers food out of the fridge - maybe it's comforting in her mouth. Also - the usual standby - chicken dust - is not having any effect on her right now. So - I shove about 1 Tbsp in little bits in her mouth. I hate it, she hates it... but it gets down. She actually seems to eat better at snack time.

Between her nibbling and me force feeding, she ate a little less than 2 Tbsp dinner. She ate up a bowl of shredded chicken for snack time, apparently. She currently loves her chicken.

I'm going to give her a little while to digest before I give her the new antibiotic (azithromycin). Just want to make sure she keeps down dinner. They flavored it cod liver oil. Ugh. She'll probably hate it (I know I would) - they dissuaded me from getting the chicken flavor because they said the med was really bitter and the fish flavors would cover up the taste better. I know Laurie and Mr Tinkles have chicken flavored... Anyway - they said if she didn't like it (as if she'll like anything I force in her mouth) they'd mix it up in another flavor for me. So... We have a 1 month supply and a refill. I guess I could try another flavor next time as well. She gets .3 ml daily for 5 days and then .5 ml every 3 days.

I feel awful. I have no energy - all I want to do is sleep, but I can't sleep... I feel weak and drained. I haven't felt this lousy in a long time. I even took one of Kasha's Transfer Factor supplements tonight along with an extra dose of my own immune stimulant sups. I'm considering a big bowl of pasta to lull me to sleep (carbs are my friend). If not that... I have some meds I can try, but that's last ditch effort cuz I don't like them.

Krys, they may be right about the flavoring, the fish may cover the bitterness better. I literally hold the syringe out and let Tinkles sniff it, and he starts licking it and then trying to bite on (eat) the syringe, then I squirt it in his mouth. He likes it! Whatever my pharmacy uses, it must cover the taste of the meds well! Give it a try, they may be right about their flavoring. I hope she'll take it willingly for you!

Get some rest, I hope you and Kasha feel better.

Well, I wouldn't say she took it willingly, but it's easy enough to squirt liquid in her mouth. God - the smell... I tried to take cod liver oil a year or 2 ago - even got "orange-flavored" cod liver oil cuz we'd read that it had an ideal mix of certain omegas, Vit A and D and, preferring to take things as nature intended... well, nature never intended me to have cod liver oil, apparently. It was awful. And now Kasha smells like it. ugh...

She got a little mopey after - maybe cuz I wouldn't share my pasta with her. But I just brought her a pretty good sized bowl of shredded chicken and she ate every bit of it. I mean, she ate a LOT of chicken today. She can easily eat a human-sized portion of chicken breast. Apparently her appetite for cat food isn't so great, but her appetite for real food isn't affected...

Just checking in to see if you got your new Fridge, and yes you did! YAY! Hope ALL of you get to feeling better. Healing vines to you, Kasha and Tigger!
